@c-keen@pestilenz.org Yay ! Welcome back !
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Oh ok, well I’ll let you do your stuff then. Just, try not to break anything from the universe. Thanks
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Those things you swallow when you have a headache. (It’s a The Matrix reference.)
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Did it try to POST any pills?
@lucidiot@tilde.town Yup, we’re here ^^
@lucidiot@tilde.town You are heard. 😁
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net @adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com I’m really not into MacOS so I had no idea what Catalina might be. But I like the zsh. 😃
@mdosch@mdosch.de Apple refuses to ship GPLv3 software. bash has security bugs that Apple doesn’t want to backport. So they’ve switched default shells again, this time to zsh. (bash and the previous default, tcsh, still ship with the OS.)
@mdosch@mdosch.de @freemor@freemor.homelinux.net was right. The latest (but not the greatest) macOS.
@adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com What is Catalina? A new shell?
@mdosch@mdosch.de Yeah, I might try that, but for the moment I just made my gf use Signal, small step. Thanks for the link :)
@von@tilde.town I moved my family to xmpp. For friends you might consider quicksy that works like WhatsApp but you can reach them via normal xmpp. Maybe you will also find some interesting groupchats there: https://search.jabber.network/rooms/1
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net : [XMPP] I have an account for a long time, but only talk with one person, not that often :/ I’m sad not a lot uses it
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Yeah, jabber.org is in a bad shape. I have an old account there and ‘donated’ it to the conversations compliance tester. Was afraid when I saw the result.
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Sure the j*u*abber is not a typo?
@fortune-hourly-bot@www.thunix.net Too much!
@von@tilde.town Good luck. I wrote poems twice for a girl. They were rather short, the girls name length in lines. And if you read the lines first character from bottom to top you got, … I guess that’s obvious. 😁
@von@tilde.town I am no dev and I have to use what the company uses.
@mdosch@mdosch.de I think I wouldn’t accept a dev job if they make me use a system I don’t want
@von@tilde.town I envy you for being able to use #Linux at work.
@mdom@domgoergen.com Looks good now. Thx!
@kasdk@enotty.dk I am testing the txtnish fix from @mdom@domgoergen.com.
@dave@davebucklin.com Did you type that out with your knuckles, or did you use voice recognition, or…? ;)
@kas@enotty.dk Your link made it into the libraries test. 😂 https://github.com/FluuxIO/go-xmpp/commit/005c8823d9a3d57c133737f1f889658c3ddb869b
@kas@enotty.dk (re @ ) The ‘%F %f %s’ doesn’t make problems now as I quick and dirty added replacing % with %%. 😁
statically generated my twtxt feed here: https://pbat.ch/wiki/twtxt.html. learning how to be social on this thing comes next.
testing out auto-generation of twtxt wiki page now
@kas@enotty.dk Didn’t know of this one. Will try it, THX.
@kas@enotty.dk Oh, it’s so bad? I created an issue. So you might comment there if you have knowledge of possible vulnerabilities. https://github.com/FluuxIO/XMPP/issues/6
@kas@enotty.dk yes, gosrc.io/xmpp is using a lot of fprintf and seems to not do escaping for % 😒
@mdom@domgoergen.com I will file an issue.
@kas@enotty.dk It looks like the message is f***ed up by the #xmpp library I am using and not by my code. :-/
Hello twtxt world
@mdosch@mdosch.de Can you maybe summarize the problem our maybe even raise an issue for txtnish?
@mdosch@mdosch.de Can you maybe summarize the problem our maybe even raise an issue for txtnish?
Regarding my problem with some chars from @kas@enotty.dkdk: The txtnish output looks fine. As I don’t see anything in my program that could cause this I asked in the #golang #xmpp room. Let’s see if someone has a good idea.
@mdom@domgoergen.com is this a known #txtnish issue what happend with @kas@enotty.dk vs @kas@enotty.dkdk or again some weirdness in my stack?
@kas@enotty.dk that probably was #txtnish then.
@kas@enotty.dk What do you mean by ‘it’? Twtxt? Txtnish? For my bot I actually wanted this behavior when filtering for mentions to also find @mdosch., @mdosch, or (@mdosch). Maybe I should limit it to ignore only one symbol after the search term.
@kas@enotty.dk Indeed, it looks like my bot is doing something wrong. I just wonder why as I didn’t have problems with special characters or even emoji before…
@kas@enotty.dk It also looks mangled if I post it myself. So the problem seems to be on my side. sigh
@kas@enotty.dk I don’t know. I will check what txtnish output in the terminal looks like. Right now I only access #twtxt via my #xmpp bot.
@kas@enotty.dkdk looks something went wrong with your last tweet: > https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%!C(MISSING)3%!A(MISSING)6vnd%!C(MISSING)3%!B(MISSING)8gn
@kas@enotty.dk I probably get a slightly-suboptimal lossily-compressed image. Or maybe I get the same image that I would have had I not bothered to give it a preset hint.
@mdosch@mdosch.de Battery-life preservation is a harsh mistress.
@kas@enotty.dk is pretty great, but there’s no equivalent widely-available functionality for background images, which is a real pity. Just imagine — hero images that take up half the space!
@adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com I think my pulse would be high a lot of times if using iOS. I hear of so many problems from #xmpp devs fighting iOS and push. Not having a reliable chat app due to apples design constraints would really piss me off.
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net Forget about my last tweet. I was thinking of a script.
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net use “$@”?
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net What ‘tweet alias’?
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net @mox@tilde.town Yeah, great font.
@von@tilde.town no worries, I have days/weeks/years like that
@adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com Looks nice. But it supports strange things like telegram, hipchat and so on but not the standard #xmpp 😡
@ckipp@chronica.xyz @neauoire@wiki.xxiivv.com Glad you like my little experiment! I’m tweaking it daily, I’ll try to release the code properly once it’s clean enough.
Also, how easy would it be for me to change the URL, how long till it updates on twtxt.xyz?
Why is the timeline in reverse order? Meaning, I’d expect to see the most recent twtxts in the end of the output
I’m so sorry to all twtxters for all the changes that my twtxt file is getting
Fellow twtxters, I wrote https://github.com/LuRsT/twtxt_on_heroku to help out people use twtxt without the need to have a server
@tux0r@twtxt.rosaelefanten.org @gbmor@gbmor.dev So many options to increase the fail counter?
@robbinaer@robbinaer.info Yeah I solved it. Also I allowed scripts. Maybe it didn’t work because I didn’t allow cookies?
@robbinaer@robbinaer.info I posted a comment on your blog but it neither shows up nor do I get a message that it was rejected or needs approval. Is this normal?
@mdosch@mdosch.de thanks! i’ll take a look!
@freemor@freemor.homelinux.net To whom are you referring?
hello everyone, yeeah i write my first twtxt tweet.
@leo@www.gkbrk.com - I guess I need to follow before a mention is properly expanded?
@mox@tilde.town Here the snippet from my #i3 config: https://paste.debian.net/1093996/
@dgold@dgold.eu I also get forwarded to https://reddit-stream.com/ when I open twtxt.xyz as https://twtxt.xyz (also the cert is not valid).
/wiki @neauoire@wiki.xxiivv.com question about glossaries for the wiki: should there be any special notation for terms we come up ourselves?
@cmaughan@chrismaughan.com Test successful?
@mdosch@mdosch.de That’s weird, I just tested with #txtnish and I can see my posts there.
@mox@tilde.town Sorry had no time yesterday and today I’m also busy but maybe I find the time to dig in my configs.
@leo@www.gkbrk.com Hmm, also #txtnish is not showing your posts. Maybe there is a bug.
@mdosch@mdosch.de that would be great! i thought i had the audio working for a second but then i didn’t
@leo@www.gkbrk.com maybe my #xmpp bot is doing something wrong, but everything else works.
@mox@tilde.town I can show you my setup for volume, brightness and screenshots when I am back home. I only use the suspend key in gdm3 where it works out of the box. I have a shortcut for calling ‘gdmflexiserver’ when I’m leaving the computer as my wife can’t log in to her account otherwise.
@mdosch@mdosch.de still trying to sort some things out with that setup tho (adjusting brightness, volume, suspending, etc) so it might be a lil while until i’m fully moved over
@mdosch@mdosch.de yeah i love how little i touch the mouse/touchpad when i’m on i3
@leo@www.gkbrk.com, welcome back! I wonder why my twtxt doesn’t show your tweets but twtxt.xyz does? 🤔
@mox@tilde.town I am also using #i3 for some month and really like it. Also I switched to TUI/CLI programs for some tasks: https://blog.mdosch.de/2019/06/06/tui-programme/ (#German). It’s a lot more efficient when you don’t have to change between keyboard and mouse/touchpad so often.
@clipped ‘2019-07-02T16:19:44-04:00 ’ that’s the timestamp from @lectronice@lectronice.com ’s last post.
@coma@tilde.town welcome to twtxt!
@mdosch@mdosch.de oh, that’s good.
@adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com Two line fortunes were posted at the same time it seems.
@kas@enotty.dk @mdosch@mdosch.de He ought to switch to one-line fortunes if he can. I don’t want to have to wait a day to get the punch line to a joke.
@kas@enotty.dk The operator changed it to daily. 😃
@kas@enotty.dk http://twtxt.xyz/user/e146b5935808fe4c but it’s quiet now.
anybody else thinks those fortunes on twtxt.xyz are too noisy?
@kas@enotty.dk Sorry, i haven’t tested the build-script, should be fixed now #termpub
Good morning, twtxt world!
@kas@enotty.dk Sorry, i haven’t tested the build-script, should be fixed now #termpub
Good morning, twtxt world!
@nonlinear@nonlinear.radiofreqs.space I always wonder why people still use #IRC nowadays. A chat system which can not be used mobile is weird today.
@nonlinear@nonlinear.radiofreqs.space there is an #xmpp muc: xmpp:twtxt@chat.mdosch.de?join but unfortunately not much used.
updated my twtxt.txt file! now i have a header
not sure if anyone still uses twtxt. but I am around here somewhere :P
