I installed GrapheneOS for the first time on Wednesday last week on a used Pixel 7a, and I’m impressed. Installation was almost seamless, and I was able to do it from another Android phone. I’ve run into very few wrinkles, even using Google’s proprietary apps with GrapheneOS’s “sandboxed” version of Google Play Services. The main problems I’ve noticed: I can’t cast, and Google Timeline doesn’t seem to work (though I imagine the intersection between people keen to use GrapheneOS and keen to have Google log their location history is pretty small).

I admit I've always compromised on this way too much myself, always to this day having Facebook Messenger just to communicate in my families group chats. Sure I run it in a Work profile on my GrapheneOS phone that I can switch off at any time, I can completely cut it off from network access any time as well, I can have a lot of rudimentary control over it, I use it as sparingly as possible, but it doesn't change the fact everytime I use it we're funneling private convos through bloody Meta's servers and trackers etc.

trackbar.pl and nickcolor.pl as super-essentials. Also trying window_switcher.pl. Somehow my custom binds for Ctrl+1/2/3/etc. to switch to window 1/2/3/etc. doesn't do anything: { key = "^1"; id = "change_window"; data = "1"; } (I cannot use the default with Alt as this is handled by my window manager). Currently, I'm just cycling with Ctrl+N/P. Other things to solve in the near future:
weechat has very nice remote frontend ability. i run mine headless with glowing bear there are also iOS and Android frontends
