In-reply-to » @prologic something have been broken with links to external feeds for a long time. Clicking the mention of @dfaria@dfaria.eu in Phi's post directs to this nonsense URL: https://neotxt.dk/external?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fdf%2Ftwtxt.txt&nick=df Media

Looking at the wrong URL https://neotxt.dk/external?uri=https://df/twtxt.txt&nick=df it seem to insteat nick/ before the propper URL of the twtxt.txt-file

Hmm it only seem to happen, when I’m logged in. Visiting https://neotxt.dk/twt/nvvwcea from another browser where I’m logged out I get the right URL: https://neotxt.dk/external?uri=https://dfaria.eu/twtxt.txt&nick=dfaria

In-reply-to » Shall we promote the filter_and_lists feature in yarnd? 🤔 I still don't like where the Logout button is, but I've gotten used to it 😅 (you are right it's hardly used really)

@prologic@twtxt.net I got an idea for splitting up the feature under /feed and move it to either /discover and /settings which will free up a slot for /logout in the topnav - how does that sound?

@prologic@twtxt.net Then it should only be filters_ since we don’t have and_lists yet😅

But there are still an inconsistency with what you get with the mentions-filter vs. the/mentions page.

I’m voting for removing the mentions-filter and keeping the /mentions page, since the latter shows the latest mentions and I like to have it as a top-level view:

And yes, where do we want the logout button instead?

In-reply-to » (#6fv6s7a) @prologic This is undoubtedly why I went away from Hugo, Pelican, WordPress and co and wrote a small, for my needs, blog software. I also learned a lot about the Flask Framework, which I can now use to enhance our apps at work and make my boss happy. I would have chosen Go, but it was not the chosen product at work, so, sorry. KISS principle. Like almost everything in the *nix world. A small tool for a small thing. Chain it with others if you need more.

@carsten@yarn.zn80.net So you want a gallery view of all you uploaded media?

In-reply-to » @carsten Yes, an option for deliberate cross-posting or POSSE the IndieWeb way is more appealing to me also to keep yarn.social feeling light and clean. In that way your twtxt feed would be the backbone of your own site and then have some middle-ware, which cross-post to your mastodon account and whatever service you fancy to use: Media

Looking at the IndieWeb service of Bridgy there might be a fairly easy way of connecing ones yarn-profile to ones mastodon via: Bridgy Fed

In-reply-to » 👋 Hey y'all yarners 🤗 -- @darch and I have been discussing in our Weekly Yarn.social call (still ongoing... come join us! 🙏) about the experimental Yarn.social <-> Activity Pub integration/bridge I've been working on... And mostly whether it's even a good idea at al, and if we should continue or not?

I don’t like where this is going with a push-model like Activity Pub being mixed up with yarn social. Activity Pub might be all for freedom of speech, but with the issue that @prologic@twtxt.net outline the is a real potential of it turning into freedom of shouting.

What I really like about twtxt is that is based on a principle of freedom to listen where you can chose who to follow and are not force-fed someone else’s agenda, that you don’t care about or want to deal with.

In-reply-to » @dkordic There's a reason for that. Most of it was done by me, and I really really suck at UI/UX 🤣 Fortunately folks like @darch and @screem and @markwylde help a lot, but ultimately the web interface was originally done by whatever crappy ass UI/UX skillz I happen to have 😅 -- I welcome anyone to create a better UI/UX, looking at you @markwylde that I hope we can just have hosted at https://yarn.social/app or https://app.yarn.social that lets you connect to any Yarn.social's Pod backend API 👌 -- OTOH as a vision impaired person though I kind of like the simplicity of what we've done so far, and we strive to keep it a simple server-side-rendered UI (SSR).

@screem@twtxt.net What are you plans for a “nice® UI/UX”? Is it for the web or app version?

Guess I need to update my pod then, but it still say Success when adding https://mastodon.ar.al/@aral as a new feed.

In-reply-to » @darch @justamoment @bender Something is a bit off with where the "Logout" button now is and the top-right "Profile" button. Can you guys try to collaborate on this? I just have this feeling... The new profile view is nice, but something is a bit off with the UX, several times I've tried to find the "Logout" button and keep forgetting where it now is 🤣

@justamoment@twtxt.net no idea for mobile (yet). But we could also use different colors for the logout. Like we used to have a secondary (grey) color for settings and logout, before I came in and messed with the css 😅

@justamoment@twtxt.net I have also played with idea about splitting up the navigation into a pod level and user level. And interesting idea to have a bottom navbar for mobile.
