It seems that NBN have been listening..There was a planned outage across the network to increase stability. I have listed the details below.

This scheduled change is part of a planned series of works to introduce additional network capability known as Save our
Showtime (SOS) and Robust Overhead Channel (ROC). These changes will improve the stability and tolerance of FTTN/B
services by reducing noise and signal interference across the network.

Unfortuantely I was not forewarned about this outage, so I will be filing an SLA rebate request 😅
