There are several political parties in the EU that, in the debates to the upcoming European Parliament election, argue that the way to deal with the climate crisis is to have more money to tackle it, and for that we need to grow our economy, make it bigger and stronger. They never focus in transforming it, only to give it even more importance.
But what is the European economy? Well, I just stumbled upon this article*, its image, and the very direct takeaway: what the European countries export is oil, gas and cars.
No - one thousand times no. We do not need “more economy”, and specially not more of this economy. We must actually do the opposite: a lot less cars, no more oil, gas or other fossil fuels.
