In-reply-to » I am now proud to say, that as of this moment, I am off of Clownflare 🤣 Still using Cloudflare for DNS, but no longer proxying through their services or terminating TLS at their edge. Instead, all my sites and services now terminate TLS on my own edge proxy running Caddy+Wireguard (so all ingress is actually egress 🤣) 🥳 #Clownflare #Cloudflare

Hetzner has Object Storage in beta now. I got access to it, but one thing is holding me back from using it: A fixed price (5,95 € per month per bucket), even if there is nothing stored in there or way less than the included 1 TB. Why not bill based on actual usage, like most other services are doing it nowadays? I guess I will keep using Scaleway Object Storage and Cloudflare R2. ⌘ Read more

In-reply-to » @lyse As far as I know, they're still visible in the Web UI. Although, in the mobile app and youtube.com, I believe it tells you that the video isn't available without having to click on it. They don't tell you that in the RSS feed, and I agree; it gets annoying.

Definitely something going on here. Cloudflare is my main suspect.

“Cloudflare loses 22% of its domains in Freenom .tk shutdown”
Reading about Freenom and .tk domains brings back memories: The first domains I registered were free .tk domains because I was too cheap to pay for domains as a high school student and also had no credit card to do so. ⌘ Read more

Migrating away from Cloudflare
Recently I stumbled across two threads regarding Cloudflare that somehow left a bitter taste. I think it’s a big red flag when users have to seek support via public forums because their accounts have been banned from a service, but no help comes via support. ⌘ Read more

I’m ambivalent about CloudFlare doing the IPFS gateways, but a lot of IPFS nodes are already running on AWS so I guess the ship has sailed on avoiding corporate data center creep in our p2p systems.
