** Chess Rules **
I love when folks say stuff like“there are only a finite number of states a chessboard can occupy, therefore a computer can play chess.”
To the folks who say such things — I wish you to play chess with my 6 year old.
Be not confined by rules! The only things governing chess in this house here are the laws of physics!

Q1K3 – Making Of
This was my third time participating in the js13kGames contest. I won in 2018 with Underrun and utterly failed to deliver any compelling gameplay with my 2019 entry Voidcall.
This year’s theme was “Space” – I chose to completely ignore it and instead decided to pay tribute to one of my all time favorite games on its 25th birthday:

@mdosch@mdosch.de I’ve tried to play games on my phone and iPad but none of the games I’ve ever played on them seem to stick. I’ve had fun — briefly — with Threes and FTL and Really Bad Chess and so forth, but I don’t seem to stick with any one game on my iOS gizmos like I have with, say, FTL-on-Steam, much less TF2 or Dota 2.
@adiabetic@www.frogorbits.com I am strongly refusing to use Apple products but for different reasons. But I wouldn’t consider anything except a computer or a console appropriate for gaming. Pads and phones might be for casual games but not for gaming.
Anyone who says that iPads are bad for gaming is an ignoramus and/or a liar. I beat Picross S’s P060 and I wouldn’t have been able to finish it if I hadn’t been able to take pictures of the TV with my iPad to be able to easily back out of hypohetical block arrangements that turned out to be wrong.
