I can query the configurations a few different ways. i can request the specific name foo.bar or a glob like foo.* or trace the hierarchy trace:some.deep.name.space which will give me the namespaces some, some.deep, some.deep.name, and some.deep.name.space. These can be combined.

I’ve been thinking of how to notify someone else that you’ve replied to their twts.

Is there something already developed, for example on yarn.social?

Let’s say I want to notify https://sour.is/tiktok/America/Denver.txt that I’ve replied to some twt. They don’t follow me back, so they won’t see my reply.

I would send my URL to, could be, https://sour.is/tiktok/replies?url=MY_URL and they’ll check that I have a reply to some of their twts, and could decide to follow me back (after seeing my twtxt profile to avoid spam)

Another option could be having a metadata like
follow-request=https://sour.is/tiktok/America/Denver.txt TIMESTAMP_IN_SECONDS
that the other client has to look for, to ensure that the request comes from that URL (again, to avoid spam)
This could be deleted after the other .txt has your URL in the follow list, or auto-expire after X days to clean-up old requests.

What do you think?

Not sure how much time it'll take to get started, but I'll give it a try.

I am kinda partial to using salty:acct:me@sour.is, yarn:acct:xuu@txt.sour.is, mailto:me@sour.is that could redirect to a specific service. and a parent account acct:me@sour.is that would reference them in some way. either in properties or aliases.

NextDNS has mostly the same features, but is hosted in the “cloud” and I have one less self-hosted service to care about. AdGuard Home is awesome, but NextDNS seems to be working great as well and also integrates with Tailscale easily. ⌘ Read more

↳ In-reply-to » @movq would it be possible to trim the subject to, say, 100 or 140 characters? Just the subject.

@movq@www.uninformativ.de

If Subject contains the full twt, then you can skim over conversations just by reading those lines in mutt’s index pager

Yes, I do the same, true.

So I decided: Okay, let’s have mutt do it.

And Mutt does it well. I agree it was/is a good idea.

The subject lines are already “compressed”

I noticed, yes.

I am not sure why I asked to begin with; in retrospect, in was a silly request. Perhaps the OCD in me got triggered while viewing rich headers, on a specific twt, when I saw the huge subject line that is, otherwise, always hidden.

Anyway, don’t mind me, move along. 😂

@prologic@twtxt.net this is a go version of Keyoxide.org that runs all server side. which is based on work from https://metacode.biz/openpgp/

OpenPGP has a part of the self signature reserved for notatinal data. which is basically a bunch of key/values.

this site tries to emulate the identity proofs of keybase but in a more decentralized/federation way.

my next steps are to have this project host WKD keys which is kinda like a self hosting of your pgp key that are also discoverable with http requests.

then to add a new notation for following other keys. where you can do a kind of web of trust.
