Media upload works, light\dark theme enabled. Tested it on debian\windows - works out of the box, statusbar moved to bottom for cleaner UI. Next is working more on ui when it refreshes the timelines. .
@prologic@twtxt.net hm, I installed latest go (vps did not have that intalled), I then did make deps, then make server, when I use the last command it said minify was not installed, I assumed minify package was the one to get, but it fails with that. (debian).
$ cp live.iso /dev/sda
$ sync

i use ssh and remote desktop to get in and about. typically via zerotier vpn. I have one of my VMs with ssh on a backup port for break glass to get back into the network if needed.
everything has ipv6 though my ISP does not provide it. I have to tunnel it in from my VMs.

Sad to see moc removed from the official arch linux repos, but also cool to learn the debian project has been quietly patching it and keeping it up to date in recent years. Long live the music on console player. (And debian!) :-)

First issue I ran into is rapidjson, there is no package for it, but it compiled from source without google tests. But I did not check what version I had on my debian machine, so I need to check that and compile the same version on openbsd. Ill work on that tomorrow.
@mckinley@twtxt.net Never used that. i typically just use official debian testing image to install with.
Does anyone have any personal experience with Spiral Linux? It is just preconfigured Debian + your choice of DE installed with Calamares. After the installation is completed, you aren’t dependent on anything except the existing Debian infrastructure which is, of course, rock-solid.
And I do distrohop a lot, but now I’m sticking with debian (I promise :p ), always end up back on it..
I’ve been on OpenSuse tumbleweed for some months, but I’ve been having issues with kdevelop and vscode, not showing includes and stuff like that correctly (and not compiling stuff, had to work in editor, then compile through commandline), making it a pain to develop on. Never figured out what the issue was, so I switched back to debian tonight, got everything working, so now I can code efficiently again. Feels good.
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci my last experience with it was with a Debian package which is known for being out of date :-D

That reminds me about something, I want to test if I can compile my desktop client on my mangopi riscv board with debian. That would be cool to run on it.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org We use gitlab daily at work. but for my own projects I use gogs. I have some scripts that I used for a gnusocial client that I maintained (before leaving gnusocial). I’ll see if I can adapt that and make deb files for the yarn client - I mostly use debian \ Trisquel my self, so I also like .deb as well.
Weekend is here :)
I want to create a frontpage for my website - https://stigatle.no , fix cmake script for the desktop client and compile it on debian. Other then that I’ll walk the dog as usual and spend quality time with my family. Going to be a great one :)
@prologic@twtxt.net Yeah, apparently it was a bit of old new (according to twitter), but still - looking forward to have a risc-v desktop system. :)
Hopefully it’ll not be too long until something like that hits the market with a price that I can pay for it.
I do have 2 risk-v devices already, one mangopi (like a raspberrypi zero), and one HiFive1 Rev B (like a arduino).
The Hifive rev B was a waste of time and money for me - but I bought it anyways, too ‘embedded’ for my liking, so not easy to make things work on that. The mangopi is perfect, got all my desktop stuff set up on that running debian.

@prologic@twtxt.net Upgrading debian now on server, fingers crossed :)
@prologic@twtxt.net Most likely, ancient debian on that webserver - I’ll assume the problem is on my end and see if I can get it sorted.
@akoizumi@social.kyoko-project.wer.ee What I don’t like is that openbsd is secure and then that means some things are different from like debian. Sometimes the security maens some change or whatever has to be done when on debian nothing additional has to be done.
@akoizumi@social.kyoko-project.wer.ee I don’t really like the way openbsd does things and use Debian on all my servers. But on the desktop side I like it but don’t use it

Kids are in bed, dog is sleeping, Marlyn is watching Tv, and I’m on the computer trying to figure out what to do for the rest of the night. Last week of vacation now, so I get more and more interrested in doing things on the computer. Played around a bit with my Risc-v SBC today (Mangopi), it runs debian, got everything updated and all that, thinking about setting up a webserver on it. It has 512mb ram, so it should be fine to host some static website on it.

@kas@enotty.dk Will try some other time. I realized the new neomutt doesn’t like my config and I am not in the mood to debug this I’m back to the one in debian/testing.
@kas@enotty.dk It was released with 20191025 but 20191102 in Debian/SID seems to not be compiled with autocrypt support. Building the package myself fails and I don’t know what libs might be missing. :D
@mox@tilde.town Here the snippet from my #i3 config: https://paste.debian.net/1093996/
Anyone using sendxmpp wants to try go-sendxmpp. It should already cover the most important use cases and I would be interested if it was compatible in your use case. https://salsa.debian.org/mdosch-guest/go-sendxmpp #xmpp #golang
My feed-to-muc #XMPP bot now filters some tracking from URLs: https://salsa.debian.org/mdosch-guest/feed-to-muc/commit/4577ec34c103b0a7c40b0606602aa2f7918a403d
It is probably an evil hack, but it is working: I created a #XMPP bot which monitors news feeds for updates and posts them to a MUC. https://salsa.debian.org/mdosch-guest/feed-to-muc
Built a little #xmpp bot that queries wttr.in: https://salsa.debian.org/mdosch-guest/gowttr Just try: xmpp:wttr@mdosch.de
