@justamoment@twtxt.net Oh yeah sorry I had two network outages yesterday 🤦♂️
@justamoment@twtxt.net I will give something a go and let you guys help with the style 🤗
I removed those features from zs as the Go template and shell plugins is enough in my opinion 😆
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net I wonder whether it’s a bit late for all this litigation against Twitter? 🤔
@akoizumi@kyoko.nerdpol.ovh Hmm working fine from my iPhone now hmmm 🤔
Actually on 2nd thoughts… I’m kind of struggling to understand what the break-down would be and the tri-states… Can you share what you had in mind in more detail? 😅
Yarn.social is actually getting quite interesting lately… What do you think? Are you noticing the uptick in growth and diversity I am? 🤔 👌
@blueneko@twtxt.net Don’t forget you can customer quite a bit of your profile and user experience in Settings if you want 👌
@justamoment@twtxt.net Yeah he got busy and I think his raspberry Pi had died?
@justamoment@twtxt.net I like it a lot 👌
@justamoment@twtxt.net oh! that’s quite clever 😅 I assume I could make it all work server side still? Would you help with styling it nicely?
@justamoment@twtxt.net no, it’s not a truck! You’ll have to ask him one day when you see him around 😅 search the archives 😆
@justamoment@twtxt.net For the list feature I plan to build it in a way where you essentially add one or more feeds to a named list, and that list becomes a separate timeline view – Doea that make sense?
@akoizumi@social.kyoko-project.wer.ee Btw the cert on your pod is invalid:
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
@akoizumi@kyoko.nerdpol.ovh Try refreshing 😆 His pod had been down a while o think 🤣 It’s solar powered 😅
@Yarns@search.twtxt.net Oh! @eldersnake@yarn.andrewjvpowell.com you’re personal pod is back up 😆
@blueneko@twtxt.net Welcome welcome! 🤗
@eaplmx@twtxt.net Ahh up 👌
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci Ahh nice! 😆 I tried to do a PhD in distributed systems but I never completed it 🤦♂️
@eaplmx@twtxt.net I’m open to suggestions 🤗
@thecanine@twtxt.net Very nice 👌
@axodys@octobloc.xyz Glad you like it 🤗
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net If you’d like to try it whilst I’m still developing it, you can update to the dev
tag (Docker image) and enable the filter_and_lists
feature 👌
For those on my pod (twtxt.net) – Check out the modified filters that now behave as “additive” (AND) filters, with toggles. 👌 The UI/UX is not great, but this is the best my “skills” can come up with.
Hopefully folks like @justamoment@twtxt.net @markwylde@twtxt.net @darch@neotxt.dk or @hashrock@twtxt.net can help improve the UX 🤞
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci I didn’t know you were into “machine learning” and did a PhD on the subject 😳
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Some nice shots there mate 👌 Apparently according to my neighbour and my daughter, it was too cloudy to take photos of the lunar eclipse 😢 – So instead I showed my daughter photos of the previous one I took back in 2018 – Here’s one such photo:
Thinking about how to do “additive” filters for PR #1059 currently available as a feature filter_and_lists
in the Docker image prologic/yarnd:dev
– Thinking about a template function, say AddFilter "name"
that looks at the current request url query string and if there is already a filter ?f=
adds a &f=
. Essentially without having to require Javascript.
Then add a little Javascript to “enhance” the UX.
@ocdtrekkie@twtxt.net I’m still hung up on the “it’s no longer my data” 😅
Ooof that’s a long Nick / Feed name 😆
Evening all 👋 Off to table-tennis 🏓 #ping-pong
@justamoment@twtxt.net Ahh thanks for the clarification! 🤣
@justamoment@twtxt.net I can easily revert this as it’s all behind a feature flag. My idea(s) so far are to:
- Build a UI around “filtering”
- Build the “Lists” feature (not-yet-started) where you can add one or more feeds to a list and generate a view from that.
Does this make sense?
I’m not entirely sure whether the “Filters” should be “inclusive” or “exclusive” – On the backend (yarnd
) they are implemented as functions that operate on a list of Twts (that make up a view) and if the function return true
that Twt remains part of the view, if not it is dropped.
@ocdtrekkie@twtxt.net So let me get this straight… Solid is about as much of a joke as the idea of running Apps on these silly Blockchain(s) and storing all your Personal Data in “blockchain” / “crypto” networks?! 🤔 🤦♂️ Can I just say:
All your data belong to us!
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci LMAO 🤣
@slashdot@feeds.twtxt.net Damn 🤦♂️ That’s a crying shame, I was really looking forward to Apple’s AR glasses to improve my “quality of life” (given my vision impairment / blindness) 😢
@marado@twtxt.net I tend to agree with you, I find it quite weird and “wrong” (for various definitions of) to let random “people”, “bots”, “things” post to a feed that absolutely isn’t theirs, have no control over and therefore the “Twts” are unauthentic 😢 I of course have strong opinions and a strong opinion on this, I know some do this and want to do this, but like you, it just feels wrong 😅
I would also be remiss not also telling you about: mkws - A simple static site generator created by @adi@twtxt.net 😅
@nmke-de@yarn.zn80.net Yes 😅 You should check out my static site generator called zs - It powers sites like:
- https://yarn.social
- https://salty.im
- https://prologic.shortcircuit.net.au
- and a few others…
I do need to update its README though a bit and make things a bit clearer/tidier 😅
@eaplmx@twtxt.net Ahhh, sorry to hear that 😢 The housing market here in Oz is insane and inflation is through the roof 🤦♂️ I feel your pain 😅
@eaplmx@twtxt.net We did, and the only reason I can think of is if you’re an operator of many pods, assuming we add “operator features” to the API and Mobile App or for development purposes (for convenience) – So maybe we should anyway? 🤔
@eaplmx@twtxt.net All comes down to “time management” 😅 And often “late nights” 🤣
gitbucket
, a github-like web application for managing git-based projects, including issues, notifications, webhooks, etc. Basically all the stuff you'd expect to have. gitbucket
is a written in scala
, and deployed as a single 70 Mbyte jar/war file that can be executed directly on a JVM or mounted via a (JVM) servlet container. I run it with a max RAM usage of 256 Mbytes and it runs fine.
Unfortunately Gitea actually does consume quite a lot of memory, and I don’t really know why. Perhaps my instance is “rather busy”? 🤔 It does seem a bit “leaky” though 😢
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net What’s Cosmoteer? 🤔 Looks very cool though 👌
🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕🦺🐾🦴🌭🥺
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci 🐱🐈🐈⬛😹😻🙀😿😽😸😺😾😼
Sounds good 👌
@markwylde@twtxt.net I do have a personal (more private) pod, but I don’t actively use it (yet). I also have @prologic@we.loveprivacy.club as well, but that was only because my infra lost power during some bad storms (now I have a UPS 😅) – I dunno about others around the place, most I think stand up their own pods and probably don’t have “accounts” on other pods per se.
That being said, we (@eaplmx@twtxt.net and I) were thinking about a Google-style account switch (top-right in navbar) on the Mobile App? 🤔

@abucci@anthony.buc.ci No problems 👌 We gotta fix the UI to support Delete/Edit Last Twt on feeds / personas a 🤦♂️
@markwylde@twtxt.net Our day jobs always consume too much of our time 🥲
