Apologies for unplanned outage. Yet another technician out today to repair a fault in the line I reported on Sunday. They swapped me over to another internal RJ12 line between my premises and the pit, because the one I was on was showing “open circuit” and suspected a bad join/connection between premise and pit 🤦♂️ #NBN #Fun

It’s meant to be public infrastructure, paid for by tax payers, but is run more like a corporate company where nobody can contact anyone when anything goes wrong. NBN CEO Stephen Rue earns a nice fat salary of AUD $3 million per year and the fiber rollout is still sitting at only about 20% of the country 🤦♂️15 years later at a cost of over $150 Billion and counting 🤣 #NBN
📣 Incident: Last night at approximately 2205 (AEST) on the 7th April 2023, vDSL connectivity to my servers were lost and never recovered. I had to cut my holiday short by a day to come home to investigate.
Likely culprit, storm/water damage to the copper that’s been sitting in the ground for some ~30+ years or so and never been replaced.

I am so excited 🤩 I’ve been woken up early this morning by my lovely wife, to let me know there’s a truck outside out house near the cabling pits doing something. Turns out, NBN have been laying the big fibre cables around our area and finally cleaning out the pits for fibre installation! 🥳 Its only a matter of time! 🤞
