You fork my repo in the app, it clones it to your own forge, follows my instance and it’s repo for updates and ping my instance to indicate “you’ve forked me”. Then when you publish changes, I can see them by pulling your instance’s feed. It all works on the same plain text principles of Tstxt itself. The feeds are “pull”-based with push-based “pings” on things like “someone forked your repo”, “a new issue has been raised against your repo”, etc.

The #py5 #LiveCoding feature can be briefly described as a tool that runs your module mode sketch and keeps an eye on changes at the source file, updating the running sketch with changes you save from your editor/IDE.

You can use with any coding editor from the command line, or, if you use #Thonny IDE you could help me test this experimental version of the thonny-py5mode plug-in!

Real tired of doing these, but here’s another Android developers vs Google update, this time there’s both good and bad news.

The good:
-Users will be able to enable “sideloading” for all current and future devices, attached to their Google account, rather than having to undergo the tedious 24 hour wait including process, on each device.

-Rather than these changes to “sideloading” and “advanced workflows” being implemented at random different dates, in different countries, we’ll all get them come 2027.

The bad:
As GrapheneOS developers recently mentioned “Google replaced pushing Git tags for certain source code with obtaining source code via Google Drive after making a request through Google Forms. It’s completely ridiculous and they’ve gradually become very slow at handling requests. They’re in clear violation of the GPLv2 now.”

The update interval has always been one second. I just didn’t remember and thus tried to time it by watching the preview update while typing. It felt like roughly under two seconds, but apparently my inner clock was off. After taking the screenshot and then examining it more closely, I noticed that the interval is stated right in the UI. :-D So, I just amended my message and didn’t bother taking a new screenshot. I figured I just leave it alone and see who spots the change, if at all. And, of course, you found the easter egg. Congrats, mate! 8-)

@prologic@twtxt.net Not sure if this really counts as a draft mode or this is what you had in mind. I just was in the editor for ages and didn’t close it. tt provides an integrated preview for the rendered message in there. It automatically updates every second.

Here’s a screenshot of the compose view with the conversation context on the top to which to reply to, the editor in the middle and the almost-live preview at the bottom, I hope it’s big enough:

But it’s not like I hit the “Add message” button in the compose view (the one currently selected on the screenshot), see the message in the conversation tree and then come back into the compose view to continue editing. There’s no edit functionality in tt. Once the message is appended to my twtxt.txt file on disk, all I can do is edit it with vim. The U+2028 line breaks are really annoying to deal with (I’m sure I could do something about that if I spent the time), so I try to avoid that at all costs.

Once new messages have been added to my local file, I then manually upload the file to my server in a separate terminal. There’s no upload command integrated into tt. Right from my very first message in the beginning, I’ve always done it exactly like that. I’m used to this and it really doesn’t bother me. But I can see that others might not be fans of that at all. I might add an upload mechanism to tt at some point in the future.

I don’t know why, but either Jenny’s behaving different after the last update, or I Fucked up something and I have no Idea how to fix it.

Symptoms:

I don’t have copies of my New Posts in my Maildir after posting them (as in I don’t see them in neomutt’s inbox).
Nor fetch or fetch context (if they get replied to) seem to fech them auto-magically.
I had to do a full whipe (~/Maildir/twtxt and ~/.cache/jenny) in order to get them fetched back.

After updating to tview 0.42.0, I also sadly noticed, that the tview.Modal now clears the background and doesn’t simply draw over the already present widget. So, I decided to write my own Dialog widget. This endeavor lead me down the path to actually bring back a custom Button implementation, too. When the button is focused, it surrounds the button text with [ and ]. When not in focus, the brackets are removed. Much better than before (https://twtxt.net/conv/qx3vz4a):

@movq@www.uninformativ.de I reckon section numbers are not really needed for articles. But if you number them, the anchors should probably not contain the section number, just the title. Especially for articles that may receive updates.

It’s probably another story for specifications. They’re kinda fixed and thus I found it useful in the past to include the section numbers in the anchors, so they show up in URLs when linking to specific sections. W3C RFCs only include the numbering in the anchors. This makes URLs fairly short, but it would be also nice to directly see what kind of section that URL actually links to.
