I upload a version of #txtnix with that feature as soon as i have some time to clean up the code
@abliss@abliss.keybase.pub I’m still just appending to my twtxt, my client signs it afterwards and uploads the signed version.

Sometimes you know a new tool is better but you are so used to the old one… :)
@kas@enotty.dk Yeah, ranger is cool, but i have to admit that i just start mc when i need a “graphical” file manager

#txtnix would only unfollow urls with 410. Now you can set the variable unfollow_codes to list additional codes like 404 and 403.

But boy, ipfs name publish really takes its time to find other nodes #ipfs
#txtnix now has minimal support to add and publish files with IPFS. Subscriptions shouldn’t be too hard either.

Let’s be honest, it seems to be impossible to use twtxt without adding new stuff to the client. So much fun.

So, after weeks of neglecting my twtxt feed, i try to tweet more often. I think i was simply a little burnt out after roster and txtnix.
Worked the last weeks on https://github.com/mdom/tapsig/, a tap library to test unix commands. Would be interested in any kind of feedback!

Quake for Oculus Rift
My Oculus Rift CV1 finally arrived last week, so of course I had to update my fork of the excellent Quakespasm engine for the new Oculus 1.4 API.
While I was at it, I also fixed a number of bugs, included support for the Rift’s headphones and the XBox One controller – I’d still recommend you play with mouse & keyboard, though. Controls are set up with reasonable defaults, but you can of course change everything in the options menu. There’s also … ⌘ Read more

@kdave@kdave.github.io It should match the full word, but it’s currently matching the prefix as %tag is easier to implement. But it’s on my todo list.

@quite@lublin.se Yeah … i was too lazy to buy chipotle and just put a good handful of pepper flakes in it. #yummy
It’s probably a little bit slower now, but i’ll add a option to increase the workers. 16 seems to work nicely here.
@kdave@kdave.github.io I fixed the connection timeouts with #txtnix. It seems i fetched to many urls concurrently, so now there’s a worker pool.

Do we really need to scale? How many people can you follow, read and respond to? And websockets could really help.
And we can support multiple transport mechanism and there’s no reason to not upload you twtxt to multiple backends.
@kas@enotty.dk I’m pretty sure i would never have tried twtxt if Zeronet had been a dependency. Though i definetely have to check zeronet!

Or do you ask because you want to implement a client or server? I can probably write something up, it’s a very minimal api.
@dracoblue@dracoblue.net I’m not sure if i’m ready to document the streaming interface, i’m still playing with different ideas.
@kas@enotty.dk, @dracoblue@dracoblue.net You’re right we should really use robots.txt for twtxt registries. Maybe i even add this as a option to #txtnix.

This would be a good use case for metadata. @kas@enotty.dk could ask clients to refetch less, eg with /refetch 10m
Instead of fetching feeds every few minutes, ‘txtnix watch ws://url’ will listen to a websocket endpoint for new tweets.
Talking about scaling: #txtnix has a new feature since last night i haven’t talked about as i wanted to test it for a few hours first.

@krt@krt.marmaro.de You can use more than 140 characters. It seems twtxt does not limit the number of characters to 140. Neither does txtnix. Twet?

@kas@enotty.dk,@ Are your twtfiles requested too often? Do you think we need a policy how often to request a twtfile?
