Every Web Browser Absolutely Sucks.
The title explains it all, you don’t even have to read.

There are no good, even passable web browsers. None. Not a single one even comes close.

The weird thing is this: making a good browser should be easy! Among the existing web browsers, you could assemble all the parts necessary for a passable (if not perfect) browser. No one has ever bothered to do this, instead, people assembled 90% good stuff and 10% junk.

Signal Status

Signal is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working hard to restore service as quickly as possible.

One thing I’d like to have one day (and it would be nice if it were integrated into twtxt.net and other pods with a familiar and pleasant user experience on Desktop, Web and Mobile) is an e2e encrypted messaging that is self-hosted and federated that doesn’t suck operationally (so many complicated solutions that exist that are hard to setup even for a Senior DevOps/SRE)

I have trouble with a web crawler using the TOR network. It’s misusing the gopher proxy on my page. I don’t want to disable/block tor (that would be the easy way out). It’s permanently changing user agents and ignoring robots.txt. It ignores HTTP status codes. I’m currently serving it 4MB binary garbage in form of Link. It sucked in about 40GB of data now, but it doesn’t explode and keeps crawling. Any other idea about what to do with it?
