Isode: Harrier 4.0 – New Capabilities
Harrier is our Military Messaging client. It provides a modern, secure web UI that supports SMTP, STANAG 4406 and ACP 127. Harrier allows authorised users to access role-based mailboxes and respond as a role within an organisation rather than as an individual.

Hey @sorenpeter@darch.dk, I’m sorry to tell you, but the prev field in your feed’s headers is invalid. 😅

First, it doesn’t include the hash of the last twt in the archive. Second, and that’s probably more important, it forms an infinite loop: The prev field of your main feed specifies http://darch.dk/twtxt-archive.txt and that file then again specifies http://darch.dk/twtxt-archive.txt. Some clients might choke on this, mine for example. 😂 I’ll push a fix soon, though.

For reference, the prev field is described here: https://dev.twtxt.net/doc/archivefeedsextension.html

About death
I’m on a train again. This time I’m going home from Hudiksvall after a
grueling weekend.

I went from Malmö on Thursday morning and worked the entire day on
trains. I arrived in Ljusdal after close to nine hours. I checked in
at the only hotel in town again and, after a quick meal and glass of
wine, went over to a very sad dad with a bottle of Macallan. We didn’t
empty it but we sure tried. I got back to the hotel pretty late.
Wasn’t able to sleep much.

The day after it was my dad’s wife’s funeral. Met up at dad’s … ⌘ Read more

More basement:

I completely forgot that DVD-RAM was a thing once. Found my old disks and they still work. 🤯 The data on them is from 2008, so they’re not that old. Still impressive.

The disks are two-sided. On the photo, that particular side of the disk on the left appears to be completely unused. 🤔

And then I read on Wikipedia that DVD-RAMs aren’t produced anymore at all today. Huh.

(I refuse to tag this as “retrocomputing”. Read/write DVDs that you can use just like a harddisk, thanks to UDF, are still “new and fancy” in my book. 😂)

Figure 1: A visitor this morning.

Sitting in front of the wood stove in my country cottage. It’s nice
and quiet. Meanwhile it seems NordicFuzzCon is going on in Malmö.
4,000 furries. I had no idea! That seems fun!

On the other hand I just read that at least 10,000 were protesting in
Malmö today against the Israel-Palestine conflict. I’ve seen the much
smaller protest … ⌘ Read more

Presentation at Sundsgymnasiet school
I was invited by Mats, a teacher at the Sundsgymnasiet school in
Vellinge, to give a talk to his students, all three years of the
Technical Programme. Sundsgymnasiet is an upper secondary school,
probably what in the US would be called senior highschool, with
students normally starting in the year they turn 16 and finishing
at 19.

I didn’t know what to expect, really. Mats told me I could talk about
whatever I wanted, so of course I talked about … ⌘ Read more

Keyboard layouts
I’ve updated my article about keyboard layouts with XKB after 13
years!

https://hack.org/mc/writings/xkb.html

I’ve edited it so the focus is on the layouts if you just want to grab
them and don’t need any handholding. Also added Thinkpad layouts along
with the original HHKB layouts.

It now also includes instructions for use with the River and Sway
Wayland compositors as well as X11.

I will probably update it soon with some images of different Thinkpad
keyboards. ⌘ Read more

Friday is my day off from work, as usual. So when I’m typing this I’m
in front of the hackstation (not a battlestation, obviously) with my
third cup of coffee, writing an update again.

I’ve been doing these status updates on my Gemini log, but I’m
increasingly aware of the dropping amounts of traffic, so I’m thinking
about doing them on the blog instead, but see below for some thoughts
on Gemini.

Didn’t know of bytesypider and bytedance, I assume those are bots, although I no idea why they are pointing to that address to your site
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/psa-bytedance-and-bytespider-bots-recommend-blocking/
You gave me a good idea to block bytespider. Its just weird what it pulls in.

twtxt-php isn’t sending User-Agent headers as it’s in the original spec:
https://twtxt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user/discoverability.html
sending user agent would be a nice thing to have so that people using regular twtxt clients can find you and anyone else hosting twtxt-php or timeline

HTTP logs are annoying but webmention has an issue that it needs a server to check for webmentions. The server can be an external one or hosted on the same server as far as I can find.
But also HTTP logs need a server that one can view the logs.

I like coding on stuff, but I rarely spend time in unreal engine, or godot, but I still want to code on some game stuff once in a while. I think I’ve found what I’ve been looking for to test out - #raylib https://www.raylib.com/ , I want to recreate one of my older (outdated) projects that I did a while back in godot, but make the same with raylib. Also it would be cool to use the USD ( https://openusd.org/release/index.html ) library that me and a friend is coding - to then implement it and load USD scenes in raylib, that would be very nice, that way I get to work on both the USD library, and code some game stuff at the same time, always nice to combine things.
