In-reply-to » Went on a hike this evening and brought my camera along. The 26Β°C felt much nicer than yesterday's 33Β°C. I perfectly met a mate who also wanted to go for a quick walk, just like we planned it. The first half hour we went together and then I parted for the longer route to the local mountain. The sunset was absolutely brilliant, but the aftermath turned out to be very boring.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org As always, great photos!πŸ‘ŒπŸ“·πŸ˜€

In-reply-to » I just read that on average we get about 108 liters of rain per square meter in July. This year it has only been 6 liters so far. I truly hope that we get some heavy rain later this evening. But looking at the forecast I reckon it will only be a few drops, if at all. It's supposed to get less and less with each day and even hour I look at the weather report. :-( Terrible 35Β°C at the moment. BwΓ€h!

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Extreme heat, drought, fires - a hellish summer!

In-reply-to » The seven degrees science felt like sub-zero whenever I was exposed to the strong west wind. Holy smokes, it was incredibly cold. Nevertheless, I braved the harsh conditions for two and a half hours. Again, people minded the weather, so I had the views all for myself. Only encountered a larger group of ~10 people at the mountain top restaurant, but they minded their own business. Kind of looked like a company celebration, I don't know.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org It’s a bird, isn’t it ?

In-reply-to » On our last forest hike two days ago my camera dropped out of my jacket pocket in its bag on a gravel path. When I wanted to take a photo and zoom in, I immediately got a lense fault. Trying to move out the lense a millimeter made some very bad grinding noises. It couldn't go any further and the camera shut down. I stuffed it back in its bag and tried again later. Luckily, it then worked flawlessly. Like nothing had ever happened to it. So I was able to capture this working woodpecker. In fact there were at least two others around, too. But we could only see this one here:

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I hope the photo of the woodpecker wasn’t the camera’s swansong!

In-reply-to » My feet hurt after our 20 km hike. Weather was really beautiful, 10-12Β°C and sunshine, no clouds. I could even walk in t-shirt and jumper. No jacket needed. Only when stopping for a late lunch at 15:00 at the summit it got pretty cold when seated.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I vote for the photo with the moon!πŸ˜€πŸ‘

In-reply-to » We made use of the beautiful sunshine before it will get dull again the next days. After calling it a day at 15:00 my mate and I headed about two and a half hours in the bush. Media The boiling sun made the 4Β°C feel quite alright. No wind in the forest, so quite bearable conditions. Four more photos from that trip.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Nice picts! Especially this one and that of the path. πŸ“·πŸ‘Œ
