@aelaraji@aelaraji.com It does because normally pinhole cameras you need to use chemicals but with solargraphy you don’t need to. The only issue is the paper cost. While with solargraphy you don’t need the 25 pages the paper sold online has. Anyway its really fun because no need for chemicals or a dark room.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I guess there is not really a point I was just talking about how I ai coded a twtxt client. Though I am able to get away with it working well because twtxt is simple and this software is simple.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Right now I am using my ai coded twtxt api to edit the twtxt.txt file directly with the api. As well as my ai coded twtxt desktop and mobile clients to go with it. Though the code at least for the desktop client is just a single python file. Plus I do know in the future it might be unmaintable.
I am not the type of person to be like “wow do everything in ai this is so great”
The entire reason I tried ai coding a twtxt client was because in an irc channel someone was like “twtxt is so simple even ai can do it” and then I get a five year old (the ai) to do it and because its simple its actually done. I don’t excpect it to be the best ever compared to the human coded twtxt stuff but at least it gets me back on twtxt. I don’t like every other twtxt client that much.
@jecxjo@sh0.xyz I think its just people get bored and move on. Same with people you talk to people online it might just be that people get bored and move on with their lives. You might think they ghost you or wonder if they are still doing well. But there are always reasons people move on and you can’t stay friends with everyone.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de So that is why it always showed up at posted now
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com Well I am not on yarn I am on twtxt but I was gone for like a year or two and now am back.
I found this photography method called solargraphy. Its a pinehole camera method where it uses photographic paper without chemical processing. It uses a scanner to process the final photo. It creates an image that catches the sun because it uses long exposure times. It would be cool to try out but the photography paper is at least $20 or more.
@prologic@twtxt.net Well at least in the US there are places that don’t accept cash.
@itsericwoodward@itsericwoodward.com It is cool though the websites are easier as its less setup.
@itsericwoodward@itsericwoodward.com There is also WS4000 simulator. Its windows only but it runs perfect in wine https://www.taiganet.com
@david@daiwei.me I don’t self host my email. When I tried it out once I used luke smiths email script and it was fine.
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz I am testing this reply again when I set it up to use nginx
@jecxjo@sh0.xyz Making software with dates and such must be really annoying.
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz testing another reply
testing a reply from my android client using the api
Testing my twtxt api to just change the twtxt.txt file from api.
@zyak@twtxt.z85b.xyz Sometimes I and other people get confused what GMT offset the timezones are because of daylight savings.
@jecxjo@sh0.xyz Also seven people I follow have no feed anymore. So this might just be everyone.
@jecxjo@sh0.xyz When I walk to my class I have to make sure to not get hit by the acorns. Can’t avoid the trees.
I like that twtxt moves slow compared to other social media platforms like the fediverse. Though to be fair I follow only about 20 people on here compared to much more on the fediverse. Less people and posts on twtxt and I think that makes me able to keep up with the community better.
@prologic@twtxt.net Thanks. It actually turned out to work really well. And I am writing this post from it.
@zyak@twtxt.z85b.xyz I am going to fork it from my client now.
I made a write up about how I came about wanting my own twtxt client.
Now my twtxt client called twtxtk is released. Its a python tkinter client. The download is there as well with the source (its a python file).
https://jasonsanta.xyz/blog/twtxtk-a-new-twtxt-client
I made a write up about how I came about wanting my own twtxt client.
@zyak@twtxt.z85b.xyz For my client right now if a fork shows up in the same thread its actually indented showing a different hash. So it actually shows slightly different if its a fork. But I guess if the hash is caculated differently or something it will be a fork but not show the orginal message above. This is the only message I saw the fork come up with the orginal message above.
I know yarn shows the forks correctly.

Got yt2009 working on Windows XP. This is on real hardware.

@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz testing multiline again
this is another line
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz testing multiline again
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz This is a preview screenshot of my client. note: It is ai codedhttp://ups.jasonsanta.xyz/uploads/Screenshot_20261001_182909.png
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz Now it uses imagetk to load avatars. It also handles any errors with uploading over scp. I might make it so I don’t have to use scp if I don’t want to.
@JasonSanta@jasonsanta.xyz I added more features to my client like being able to view profiles. Think this will become my main twtxt client. Its great. If anyone wants I can put it online and write up for documendation for it.
@jason@jasonsanta.xyz I am testing a reply.
I am testing my twtxt client called twtxtk. It is ai coded but it works well because I disliked how jenny was and I wanted a local only client. Its made it python with tkinter.
@prologic@twtxt.net Congragulations on your fiber internet. Where I am there was fiber for at least 10 years now.
@eaplme@eapl.me
Looks really interesting
Didn’t know of bytesypider and bytedance, I assume those are bots, although I no idea why they are pointing to that address to your site
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/psa-bytedance-and-bytespider-bots-recommend-blocking/
You gave me a good idea to block bytespider. Its just weird what it pulls in.twtxt-php isn’t sending User-Agent headers as it’s in the original spec:
https://twtxt.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user/discoverability.html
sending user agent would be a nice thing to have so that people using regular twtxt clients can find you and anyone else hosting twtxt-php or timeline
HTTP logs are annoying but webmention has an issue that it needs a server to check for webmentions. The server can be an external one or hosted on the same server as far as I can find.
But also HTTP logs need a server that one can view the logs.
@eaplme@eapl.me
I could try and host timetime it does look nice.
That part is missing on the Web side, there is a commented PHP code to do that
https://github.com/eapl-gemugami/twtxt-php/blob/master/libs/TOTP.php#L121
That code would end up generating an totp secret that I could put into the config?Does it have a way to follow feeds from the web ui?
Yes, but you have to be logged in. Currently can only add URLs, not edit or unfollow.
How would I edit or unfollow?
That fit website would be nice to just genete a secret and put it into the .config and then using the totp code to login.
@eaplme@eapl.me
Yarn could the twtxt I want more then regular twtxt. Though I do like not having to host a yarn pod.
That client looks really cool. A web client that connects to a regular twtxt without the need to host a full yarn pod for just one user and feed.
What is the difference between twtxt-php and timeline from sorenpeter? Does it have a way to follow feeds from the web ui?
I was looking at it and what prevents someone from downloading the .config file and getting the password? Also how would I generate a totp password to use?
I should try to host that it might be the right not a full on yarn pod but also can post from my phone.
The weird thing is in my server logs it shows that your site pulled in the useragent as https://eapl.me/twtxt/?url=https%3A//neotxt.dk/user/darch/twtxt.txt with bytesypider from bytedance? That sounds weird. Plus I can’t grep just twtxt in my logs and find your feed.
I am thinking about setting up a yarn instance. Twtxt is cool but it would be nice to be able to post from my phone.
Local posting would be a cool feature for yarn to have. A feed that can only be viewed by logged in users of that instance.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org Yeah I know its broken but its not that important of a message.
That might not be what the F in jenny with mutt means
I wonder why it makes a forked thread and not a regular thread but I can’t say it does for sure. All I know is that it says its a forked thread.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
That is what I saw when I went onto twtxt.net to see. But it does not matter much as posts that I write from jenny work.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
I hope this post works fine. I just copied the last post when I changed my feed. But this post is made with jenny.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
I don’t know how I would even fix my feed. The only thing I know is to delete or archive my old posts.
Looks like now I can grep my logs without it freezing. My website is faster when hosting it myself.
I just switched to my own server for hosting my website and now I can view logs. But the logs are only one day so if I don’t view them for a day then yesterdays logs are gone. Plus if I grep the logs then it freezes but if I view it in nano it works.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
That sunset looks really nice.
@prologic@twtxt.net
It would and I should switch over and then I can view the logs.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
That is good so that the user can see if someone replies or mentions him. I might have to switch my website to a server I can view logs.
@prologic@twtxt.net
Yarnd exposes it for the users to view logs for there own feed?
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
Yeah I think jenny should work fine. Might have got messed up. Don’t know what messed up my file I don’t recall anything that would mess up my file.
Yep the search engine is an option but if I switch to my own server or get a rented server then I will be able to view the logs.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org
I use Jenny and I thought the multi line did work. Will keep that in mind when I am writing out posts. Also do you know how I can see if someone mentions me that I am not follwing? I know the user agents exist but I can’t view the server lgos since I host this on codeberg but if I do switch to my own server it would work.
Don’t install Trinity desktop on Slackware. Kde wayland does not work anymore and regular kde x11 is mixed with parts from Trinity. Going to need to do a reinstall. Plus Trinity is half working anyway. Best to stick with Kde and xfce.
@prologic@twtxt.net Thanks I am glad to be here. Was here before but now I am back.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de
Yes I have threading on. I wanted to put new posts at the top with set sort_aux = reverse-last-date-sent but that that makes the threads do the newest first not bellow the reply. So all replies are in a top newest order. But I can just use sort date_sent and then go to the end to go to the newest post.
@prologic@twtxt.net
I saw that but then I refreshed the ublock lists and I could watch.
@prologic@twtxt.net That is good even though I do see mutt getting confusing with all the replies and threads.
Testing out Jenny. If this works I will setup Jenny with mutt.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Did you get the email I sent? I found two emails and did not know what one to send to.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Its more than one line I can email it to you if you like
@prologic@twtxt.net Great now I can start using twtxt and reply.
@prologic@twtxt.net Does putting the hash in my reply work?
@prologic@twtxt.net @xuu@txt.sour.is Don’t think I can reply to the thread in twtwt. Right now Jenny is not working for some reason. I wonder if @movq@www.uninformativ.de has any ideas. Anyway I am happy to be back and will see if I can get jenny working. Though my following list is gone now. Plus I can’t see when someone mentions me if I am not follwing them so I should work on that.
I am back on twtxt for now. I am using twtwt client. Don’t think that it does replies so I should try jenny with mutt again.
@prologic@twtxt.net
Just something to hide the ip when you ping like cloudflare does but not cloudflare. if there even is something like that
@movq@www.uninformativ.de
I have a cheap basic just alarm clock and nothing else. It tells the time and gives an alarm nothing else and it works 100% of the time.
@prologic@twtxt.net
If there was something that could hide the ip from pings and searches like cloudflare but without cloudlfare that would be great.
@prologic@twtxt.net
thanks
I am back on twtxt. Switched to endevour os from fedora nd setup Jenny again. Now I just have to setup autopublishing and it will be all setup.
@akoizumi@social.kyoko-project.wer.ee What I don’t like is that openbsd is secure and then that means some things are different from like debian. Sometimes the security maens some change or whatever has to be done when on debian nothing additional has to be done.
@akoizumi@social.kyoko-project.wer.ee I don’t really like the way openbsd does things and use Debian on all my servers. But on the desktop side I like it but don’t use it
@prologic@twtxt.net Yeah its never going to change but its an option to use UTC
@prologic@twtxt.net That is confusing and no one will understand how to use it. But I did not even know UTC means Coordinated Universal Time. We need to make a revolution to get rid of timezones on the internet and just use UTC
@prologic@twtxt.net Though no one ues it though
@mckinley@twtxt.net We need to make something like computer time or something like that so people using a computer can say like lets have a chat thursday at 7:00 and no timezone things.
