@benk@kwiecien.us I haven’t actually looked at the original twtxt client, which means the following is ill-conceived speculation, but I believe that it only fetched feeds when you “refreshed”, with a minimum time between feed fetches. Sure, you’ll fetch feed unnecessarily now and then, but not nearly as often as polling every 5 minutes ;)

The twtxt aggregation on Antenna has exploded lately :D

I got a new door today! Everyone in the home owner association are getting the 30-year-old doors replaced :)

Though twtxt registries never really took off gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/twtxt.txt presents the last 7 days of twts known by Antenna in the registry format. It’s intended to be a help in discovering twt feeds in geminispace (there aren’t very many yet).

Made a bunch of pretty much invisible changes to my twtxt.txt file 😋 Pretty much just added an avatar and description and stuff.

@benk@kwiecien.us https://yarn.social/ has support for fetching feeds over gemini since a few minutes back! Not serving them there that I know of, but that’s just a matter of pointing your gemini server to the twtxt.txt file.

I should use twtxt more. I actually like it better than fedi, in general.

Someone in #twtxt on libera.chat asked a question and pinged everyone, and then left. The question was “is twtxt compatible with mastodon?” The answer is no. It isn’t.

I know I’ve mentioned this in various social media, but I just want to reiterate how much internet reality drama means to me. It’s insanely entertaining.

Wohoo! My budget expenses for November are balanced! Had €100 left even, and that goes straight into savings.

Chocolate and skumtomtar (literally “foam santas”, a marshmallow-like candy) are awesome. They’re even better with tea. And that combo becomes at least twice as good after a run, shower, and shave. True story.

@benk@kwiecien.us Ubuntu is being similarly mean to me. “Can’t upgrade X because Y depends on older version. Can’t update Y because there’s a dependency problem”. I’m pretty sure the dependency problem would be solved with an upgrade, but I can’t perform one…

Had a great day today. Fun at work, went for a long walk and did my grocery shopping, have set a dough for tomorrow’s breakfast. And finished writing stuff that I’ve longed to do.

The best part of Pokémon Go is hatching eggs. I just wish I could queue up eggs for the incubators so I didn’t have to check my phone every now and again. Actually, I wish there was a game where you just hatched eggs.

Thinking about posting something technical again, but there’s so much technical talk in geminispace already.

Sometimes it’s hard to prioritize projects. Should I do the most important first? The most fun? Is it worth trudging through the less interesting part of project A just to see it finished?

There’s a lot of chatter about what to do with the work on the gemini spec. Hopefully we’ll have a solution of some kind in place soon.

It’s Tuesday, but somehow I have a Thursday kind of feeling… Whatever. I’m following an online auction for a couple of PDAs. The starting price is more than I’d be willing to pay, but there isn’t a single bidder yet. I hope that last, because the seller will put the ad out for a lower price if it does!

There’s been a lingering error on the server I botched the OS update on last Thursday. I had a hunch about the cause, and it turns out I was correct! Hopefully not too complicated to fix either 😊️

It’s FRIDAAAAY! Wohoo! I’m in an unusually good mood today, and work is a lot more rewarding than I’d expected. Awesomeness.

Slow day today… What’s everyone up to?

I’m working on a twtxt thing that I think (or at least hope) that some people in the tildeverse will find useful. Fingers crossed!

I’m getting back into running after a couple of weeks downtime. My left knee is not what it used to be, and I’ve decided to ease back into it. Mentally I’ve accepted that I’ll probably never run 10km in 37:42 again, but emotionally I fear getting slower… As if a slight decline, while saving myself from injuries, would be a defeat.

I’m quite happy that we have a few twtxt files being pushed to Antenna 😊️ It’s a nice little community.
