🔥 ATTENTION: I have really bad news folks 😢

Today, (just this morning in AEST) I accidentally nuke my pod (twtxt.net). I keep backups, but unfortunately the recovery point objective (RTP) is at worst a month! 🤦‍♂️ 😱 (the recovery time objective is around ~30m or so, restoring can take a while due to the size of the archive and index) – For those that are unfamiliar with these terms, they essentially relate to “how much data loss can occur” (RPO) and “how quickly you can restore the system” (RTO).

This pod (twtxt.net) is back up and online. However we’ve last the last ~5 days worth of posts y’all may have made on your feeds (for those that use this pod).

📣 NEW: Added a new feature for pod operators to optionally configure. Compact Front Page.

When enabled will display only one post per feed on the unauthenticated Discover view (the front page).

New feature (not a great UX, sorry 😞) that displays the last fetched feed status, last error (if any) and error count in your “Following” list. Check it out and cleanup your feeds for “hunk” 👌

📣 Outage Notification: On Tuesday 23rd May 2023 between 7.30am to 5pm, there will be an outage of undefined length with no known start time due to planned power meter upgrades on the premises by the energy company.

You know, it’s one of those things where they give you a ~12hr window 🤦‍♂️ I will post here again once the technician is on-site and power down. I will power back up as soon as the work is complete.

According to the information I’ve received, the outage should be no more than ~1-2hrs.
