@prologic@twtxt.net oh dear god. Keep us posted! 😅
@prologic@twtxt.net how could we ignore it?! Twtxt bridge? Of what kind? Say more! :-P
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org then it was, most likely, space debris—which, sadly, make up for 98% of all space anomalies these days. And thought they have applied to the Grant Wishes Council, they are yet to be approved. Keep playing, though. 😅
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I hope you were prepared to cram those wishes in 3 seconds. I am always prepared for that eventuality. You don’t have to mutter a word, nor clearly think much about it—that is, you don’t need to think your wish(es) word-by-word. As long as you stay within the wish(es) main goal(s), you should be fine, and it/they shall be granted, of course.
@kiwu@twtxt.net is it almost over, or just got closer to the next one? 🧩
@kiwu@twtxt.net doing awesome, how about ya? We are having some coolish days, which are super rare, so I am enjoying them plenty!
tilde.club feeds have no # nick and is messing with yarnd's behavior 😅
@prologic@twtxt.net 🎉, what did you do? Details, details!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org nginx allows logging per user, via using defined variables on configuration. Not sure, though, if a Tilde would be willing to go to those “extremes”.
Hmm, so it seems this Mike is the one who inherited it: https://tilde.club/~deepend/, but not too active anywhere, though pinging “deepend” on Libera might work…
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org was it? Hmm, am I back to square one? 😅 Contacting one tilde could be a step ahead, but there are so many…!
access.log files. Hence they’ll never see followers, unless we notify them out of band. 🫤
@prologic@twtxt.net I found it for you. It is ford@ftrain.com.
access.log files. Hence they’ll never see followers, unless we notify them out of band. 🫤
I mean, granting everyone read access, maybe?
access.log files. Hence they’ll never see followers, unless we notify them out of band. 🫤
@prologic@twtxt.net that would certainly help a lot. I can’t think of a solution, though.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de they know it is perk worth paying for. Hahahaha!
It is harder to regain ownership of an IRC channel than crossing the Mexico/US border. 😅
@prologic@twtxt.net just store and host. All modern browsers render WebP just fine.
@prologic@twtxt.net well, uploading and rendering, yes. Not a priority, of course. Just an item for a list somewhere.
@xuu@txt.sour.is as long as I see you on IRC, bouncer or not, I don’t worry. Weird, isn’t it? Glad you are OK, Winter’s coming!
@movq@www.uninformativ.de what do you use? Is it plus-aliased emails? I am curious to know how others are accomplishing this. I am currently using the “Hide my Email” feature, from iCloud.
Oh, and I forgot (because I thought it was obvious, my bad), set a nick, and a url at the very minimum on your feed. See “Metadata Extension”.
Not too important, but an item on a wish list: add support for WebP? I had to convert the animated WebP to GIF.
@tilde.club@tilde.club unwritten etiquette (by me, and for me, but one can hope, right?).
- Proper grammar (in any language).
- Correct capitalisation, and punctuation.
- Subject extension support.
Anything else doesn’t matter. ☺️
@prologic@twtxt.net all I can say or, rather, express is…

User-Agent analyzer with my subscription list to spot new feeds automatically.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org an advent of code, I love it! Go, Lyse, go!
@prologic@twtxt.net a good DR plan must be tested at least once a year. ☺️
@prologic@twtxt.net nothing to be sorry about. It gave me time to watch TV with kids! 🤭
Oh, and happy belated birthday! 🎂🥳
Also, did you intended for the page title to be simply “home”?
@thecanine@twtxt.net looks good! Was the use of asterisks instead of <li> a concerted choice (it doesn’t look intended, but I might be wrong)? With CSS you can replace bullets on lists with whatever you want.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de my apologies if I crossed some lines, I only meant it as a friendly engagement (which, all aside, was achieved!). Thank you for sharing your thoughts; please know that I appreciate them.
This brings a thought I had for a long time, why can’t we upload arbitrary files to a twtxt? If not an image, make it simply a link. I could have used such feature to upload the text.
@prologic@twtxt.net when I first “fed” the text to Gemini, I asked for a three paragraphs summary. It provided it. Then I asked to “elaborate on three areas: user experience, moral/political impact, and technical/legal concerns”. The reply to that is too long for a twtxt.
I then asked to counter the OP opinions—as in “how would you counter the author’s opinion?”. The reply was very long, but started like this:
“That’s an excellent question, as the post lays out some very strong, well-reasoned criticisms. Countering these points requires acknowledging the valid concerns while presenting a perspective focused on mitigation, responsible integration, and the unique benefits of AI.”
What followed was extensive, so I asked for a summary, which didn’t do justice to the wall of text that preceded it.
@prologic@twtxt.net hehehe, yeah, it isn’t mine neither. Most obscure TLDs are in small registrars. I like to stick to one register (even though when Google Domains ceased to exist I was forced to have two, as Cloudflare doesn’t support the .ONE TLD).
@prologic@twtxt.net it looks made with good taste, which I appreciate. Developer’s site address is cool, https://tiago.zip. I didn’t know one could rent a ZIP TLD.
@prologic@twtxt.net never heard of it before. I wouldn’t call lightweight to anything that needs Docker to run, though. 😅

we.loveprivacy.club yarn instance down? 🤔 I've been getting a 502 the last couple of days.
@prologic@twtxt.net that poke will go no where. It is 502d. 😅
@movq@www.uninformativ.de this I find more worrisome, and saw no mention of it on your text: Right-Wing Chatbots Turbocharge America’s Political and Cultural Wars (gift article).
Enoch, one of the newer chatbots powered by artificial intelligence, promises “to ‘mind wipe’ the pro-pharma bias” from its answers. Another, Arya, produces content based on instructions that tell it to be an “unapologetic right-wing nationalist Christian A.I. model.”
@movq@www.uninformativ.de using gopher also limits tenth fold the amount of bystanders you will get. I think a finger .plan would probably have a bigger audience. :-D :-P
And, one last missed:
- AI is Forcing Legal Modernization: The copyright double standard is a failure of outdated law. AI provides the necessary impetus for legal reform to either create fair compensation frameworks for creators or establish a clear new definition of fair use for data-driven models.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de Gemini liked your opinion very much. Here is how it countered:
1. The User Perspective (Untrustworthiness)The criticism of AI as untrustworthy is a problem of misapplication, not capability.
- AI as a Force Multiplier: AI should be treated as a high-speed drafting and brainstorming tool, not an authority. For experts, it offers an immense speed gain, shifting the work from slow manual creation to fast critical editing and verification.
- The Rise of AI Literacy: Users must develop a new skill—AI literacy—to critically evaluate and verify AI’s probabilistic output. This skill, along with improving citation features in AI tools, mitigates the “gaslighting” effect.
The fear of skill loss is based on a misunderstanding of how technology changes the nature of work; it’s skill evolution, not erosion.
- Shifting Focus to High-Level Skills: Just as the calculator shifted focus from manual math to complex problem-solving, AI shifts the focus from writing boilerplate code to architectural design and prompt engineering. It handles repetitive tasks, freeing humans for creative and complex challenges.
- Accessibility and Empowerment: AI serves as a powerful democratizing tool, offering personalized tutoring and automation to people who lack deep expertise. While dependency is a risk, this accessibility empowers a wider segment of the population previously limited by skill barriers.
The legal and technical flaws are issues of governance and ethical practice, not reasons to reject the core technology.
- Need for Better Bot Governance: Destructive scraping is a failure of ethical web behavior and can be solved with better bot identification, rate limits, and protocols (like enhanced
robots.txt). The solution is to demand digital citizenship from AI companies, not to stop AI development.
Wow, the memories those brought! Thank you! Fo brief moments I was transported to the early 1990s.
@prologic@twtxt.net pfff, you are a kid! :-P
@kiwu@twtxt.net wanna trade? I would be willing to become celibate to go back to my 20s, and believe me, if there is something I don’t want to do is becoming celibate, so that ought to tell you something! 😅
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org believe it or not, I imagined the whole thing in my head, and kind of ROFLMAO. I am sure it was much, much less funny in real life. So, sorry! :-P
My elders complained when rotary phones lost their wheel, getting replaced by push buttons. It was mayhem! We don’t live in a Matrix, we live in a loop. LOL.
@zvava@twtxt.net happy belated birthday! Also, I would love to see that website. I went to the one listed on your profile, and saw the old one, not this one. I like the current, and also the pink look of the one of the screenshot!
@thecanine@twtxt.net I like Apple’s Liquid Glass. While I see there are many hatters, I haven’t had an issue with it on iOS, macOS, watchOS, nor tvOS. Have them all working fairly flawlessly.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org don’t German regulations require the country in which it was made to be clearly noted on the product? These days everyone is cheapening their craft. Don’t be surprised if it is, indeed, wholly Germanium.
@prologic@twtxt.net I requested an invitation. There are many like this, so it will be interesting to see how it develops. I also hope you are not hosting this on your infrastructure, at least not once you decide to monetise. I know self hosting is fun and all, but it also introduces variables that directly collide with a business model.
It is always awesome to have a few minutes to converse, at least once I month. I will not miss one, adding it to my calendar. I mean, if we were neighbours you (or wife) would probably have to kick me out of your house, so it’s good I am really far, and a once a month call suffices. 🤣
@kiwu@twtxt.net hey, not random! How dare you! (with Greta accent, and emphasis). LOL. Old man here doing, well, like old man do. Wait until you are old, and that will give you a better idea. :-P
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org now that I could finally read you RSVP message (or, should I say, essay, LOL), I had to see the video, and well, https://netbros.com/1761846417/. Hahahahaha!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org LOLz! Way to destroy @prologic@twtxt.net’s newest playground! :-P
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com yeah, it looks tedious because it is. LOL. I can twt no matter where I am because a) with Yarn is as easy as opening a web browser, and b) with jenny is as easy at SSHing to my VPS. But, the keyword is fun. That’s what matters!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org back to this, I think @prologic@twtxt.net meant 1 November 12:00 UTC. I won’t hold it against him. 🤭
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com tell us all about it, without omitting details!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org maybe @prologic@twtxt.net managed to mess things up—we should be used to this already, right? LOL—as the meets are always on Saturdays, as early as 06:00 EDT, or whereabouts, never on a Sunday.
You want me to submit a reply with “I probably won’t show up”?
I LOLed IRL! 🤣
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com no biggies, and welcome back!
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org then I blame @prologic@twtxt.net, and no one else. LOL. But yeah, it is Saturday around 08:00 my time (EDT).
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org then I blame @prologic@twtxt.net, and no one else. LOL. But yeah, it is Saturday around 06:00 my time (EDT).
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org but it is Saturday… 🤣🤣🤣
man and it calls home to see if I'm allowed to do that.
Because OP twtxt seems to be a cross-post from the Fediverse, I am bringing some context here. It refers to this GitHub issue. This comment explains why the issue described is happening:
This is usually due to notarization checks. E.g. the binaries are checked by the notarization service (‘XProtect’) which phones home to Apple. Depending on your network environment, this can take a long time. Once the executable has been run the results are usually cached, so any subsequent startup should be fast.
OP network must be running on 1,200 Baud modem, or less. 🤭 I have never, ever, experienced any distinguishable delays.
man command does not calls home. Not on my macOS 26, at least, but it shouldn't on any other.
@javivf@adn.org.es not having any issues on my M4 mini, no. Smooth. There are some visual discordances I don’t like, but if I give them a blind eye I can live with them. 😅
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org it hasn’t happened yet. It is this coming Saturday.
man and it calls home to see if I'm allowed to do that.
The man command does not calls home. Not on my macOS 26, at least, but it shouldn’t on any other.
My opinion, Meet is kind of crappy.
@prologic@twtxt.net hmmm:
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wss://meet.mills.io/ws/Yarn.social/l3oVrknUnjZo2zSQoGlOX3.
Oh, also, have you fixed https://meet.mills.io/call/Yarn.social already? It didn’t work the other day.
@prologic@twtxt.net so far, yup. I recommend to make the event banner bigger. I almost missed the details of it, as the text is quite tiny.
Unless your masochist spirit requires/demands it, I don’t see a reason to do something that will pressure, stress, and leave you exhausted. 😅

@prologic@twtxt.net built it (as in banner reminder, etc.) and I will come! Joke side, I will join for 30-45 minutes each month, sure! No main topic, no pre-conceived themes, just folks getting together to chat and rant, or whatever. Count me in!
@dce@hashnix.club retro hacking as in ROM hacking? Not me.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de he sure does! LOL. It is more like incomprehensible stuff that comes out. Sometimes I manage to get what he was trying to say, but more often than not I have no idea. 🤣
@movq@www.uninformativ.de we found a Swiftie! :-D (me too, me too!)
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org easy to solve. All he has to do is apply a thick lacquer layer. Lovely table!
Great! Write a post about it, and twelve into details, providing graphs, or stats on how disk “I/O can kill your application(s) no matter what”.
@prologic@twtxt.net I don’t think you understood what I wrote. 😅
Intranets have been around since Jesus times (well, not quite 😂, but you get the idea). They are fun to play with, but that’s about it. I mean, the “fun” of the Internet comes from its variety.
@thecanine@twtxt.net I am not arguing you didn’t do the right thing™, and even if the impact is minimal, or nothing, you did what you thought was right (and I agree). I don’t agree with certain rules the EU wants to impose, not in this particular case. There are rotten potatoes everywhere, and I don’t get fooled by the EU often sacrosanct behaviour.
But who am I to say anything, right? Look at the grotesque clown utterly shit show we live with on this side!
@thecanine@twtxt.net alright, a canned reply. Better than nothing! (or equal to nothing, LOL).
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I am betting he will not. The letter was not focused, nor used, politician’s “lingo”. If it was sent via email then it will be even easier to dismiss. I wish I was not such a cynic! 😩
@prologic@twtxt.net is iMessages iCloud synchronization disabled? Applications might stop working, and functionality rendered worthless the more you block.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de how do you set your clock to use a specific time signal radio station? I have one wall clock in my office, it works great, but no way to set that.
@prologic@twtxt.net I wouldn’t know where to look for little cockroaches, or roaches, in general! LOL. We buy seeds to feed them. But not around the neighborhood, otherwise we would have a problem. 😅
@prologic@twtxt.net something happened on this one’s neck, right? Or was it a blow of wind that ruffled the feathers?
Now I feel the urge to go around looking for one of “my own” to share. 😅 I love crows, ravens, magpies, all of them in the corvidae family.
@prologic@twtxt.net woohoo! Take that, micro.crap! :-D
@movq@www.uninformativ.de exactly! 🤣
That Manton guy is so incredible dull, not even funny: https://www.manton.org/2025/10/03/apparently-there-was-some-drama.html
They look the same to the naked eye. Of course, I checked your raw feed, and saw only one.
@itsericwoodward@itsericwoodward.com hmmm, what was this, an edit, a deletion?

@movq@www.uninformativ.de can’t you use generic drivers? I did that for an enterprise copier/printer/scanner we used to have at work, and it worked just fine!
Of course, all things optional is fine. Like, it will be ignored (just like banner would) for clients having no knowledge of it.
@zvava@twtxt.net agreed. I think display_name will be redundant, and add to the “busy” factor. That is, the opposite of simplicity.
