@aelaraji@aelaraji.com I don’t see a twtxt from eapl. What am I missing?
@movq@www.uninformativ.de translating emoji makes it “hopefully nobody pulled that fox up” LOL.
@xuu I totally and absolutely blame htmx. 50/50 kidding and serious.
@xuu I figured, yes. I didn’t know if adding noise would help or not. I see, based on IRC comments, that the plot thickens. :-/
@prologic@twtxt.net awfully awesomely brilliant, of course. But don’t take my word for it!
@xuu 67890
@xuu 12345?
@prologic@twtxt.net agreed.
@doesnm@doesnm.p.psf.lt meh, I am not into conspiracy theories, though. I would describe it as rot. I mean, there is still plenty of good stuff, but I am old enough to have taken note on the changes.
@prologic@twtxt.net some good reading about Bluesky, on a similar topic.
@doesnm@doesnm.p.psf.lt I think that, just like a river’s waters (always new, never the same), there is nothing left of KHTML on any browser which was initially based on it. KHTML was a fork of khtmlw
itself, if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org that much, eh? Around how many twtxts?
@prologic@twtxt.net yes, web content indeed is/has become. I will say a little bit of both. Trying my best not to lose faith in humanity. :‘-/
I share my location from my iPhone using “Find My” app with friends and family. I also have a family share, with immediate family.
Even since upgrading to iOS 18, and every once in a while, the location of someone sharing with me gets frozen in time. I see them, but their location doesn’t change for hours. In the case of family share, I can see their device up-to-date, under “Devices”, but they show frozen on the “People” tab. Only way to fix it is for either of us—it doesn’t matter who—to stop sharing, and start sharing again. That has happened to me with three different people, and to three different people, with others (not me).
Is anyone using iOS 18+ experiencing something similar? I have sent feedback to Apple.
Oh my, I missed a test “ajdjeusc” party! Hopefully I can jump on board on the next one. :-D
@prologic@twtxt.net and much faster, and capable. It’s simply an awesome machine.
@prologic@twtxt.net no development activity on that library for two years. Hmm.
@prologic@twtxt.net there is no need to remove them, even more so when others find it useful. I simply answered your query. :-)
@prologic@twtxt.net I forgot the “why not”, sorry. I see, nor have, use for them.
@prologic@twtxt.net I use none. I exclusively use “Discovery”, and “Mentions”, nothing else.
@prologic@twtxt.net one of its key principles:
“Focus on the process: Kaizen emphasises improving the processes that create products or services, rather than just focusing on the end result.”
@prologic@twtxt.net that’s the assignment to end your Sunday. Look it up! :-)
@prologic@twtxt.net a noble aim. Kaizen!
@prologic@twtxt.net LOLing IRL!
@prologic@twtxt.net no, notice the Markdown is broken.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org well, boohoo! :-P
Parsing on that URL is broken, @xuu.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I am very skeptical on anything happening on [1st of April](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fools’_Day). LOL.
@prologic@twtxt.net I will make it in. Will make sure to tell mum in advance that “I have a meet with the boys”. LOL.

Twt from @bender 🥳 Turns out just before I accidentally nuked my pod, I took a dump of it's cached just seconds before 🤣 -- So I was also able to rebuild anything that was missing from the backup from the recent cache dump!
@prologic@twtxt.net time for a well deserved rest. Get well soon. Before you go, monthly call next weekend? If so, set the banner now! :-)
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com oh, you still had an account there? Oh dear.
@aelaraji@aelaraji.com hahahaha! What?! And prive you from framing it with all its magnificent glory? Never! :’-D
@prologic@twtxt.net woot, woot! @lyse@lyse.isobeef.org came to save the day!
@news@twtxt.net all good, and thank you @prologic@twtxt.net for the transparency, and quick action. I feel lighter already! :-D

“The parchment, on the other hand, might be a bit wasteful for just temporary ideas that are not perfectly layed out yet.”
OK, OK, I will use the cheap one. :-P
@movq@www.uninformativ.de no, no stupid at all. I just don’t like more things laying around, collecting dust. I am 100% digital.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org woah! Why didn’t I think of that?! “/me chisels this for the record in a crispy, brand new, thin granite slab.”
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org can one truly set a fixed price on art? I wouldn’t pay the original amount (in retrospect, I regret it, as it could make me richer now), but those who did were buying art, and a piece of history. It is well made, to boot.
But again, not for me. 😅
Crazy, ain’t it?
“Designed by Apple in California” stopped being sold in 2019. It sold for $199, and $299 (two sizes). Check the eBay pricing on that link, if you want to know the selling price today.
Portion of the modified Twitter TOS that goes into effect today (it’s on right now), as summarised (ironically) by Google’s Gemini:
“In simpler terms, this means that when you share your content (like text, images, or videos) on the service, you’re giving the company permission to use it in various ways. They can copy, modify, distribute, and even use it to train their AI models. This includes sharing your content with others and using it on other platforms. You won’t be paid for this, but using the service itself is considered enough compensation.”
@prologic@twtxt.net true. I was thinking more on Yarn’s/twtxt size (as it’s today). I find it attractive to have the ability of having a small group of GtS instances that only, and exclusively, federate with each other.
Perhaps I should have said, a “similar […] thing as Yarn” instead.
While on a small community topic, GoToSocial recently implemented the ability to run isolated instances that will not federate openly with the rest of the Fediverse, but that will allow administrators to federate exclusively to other instances (silos), creating a similar, actually more restricted, thing as twtxt. See GoToSocial Federation Modes.
@prologic@twtxt.net yes, this community being much smaller makes it easier to interact. I didn’t interact, or didn’t interact much on BlueSky, so I sowed what I ripped. As I have grown older I have found myself less inclined to socialise in bigger places. One of the reasons I feel fine here, and on the Fediverse.
@wbknl@twtxt.net I prefer vellum to write my stuff. It lasts longer. 😂
@prologic@twtxt.net what I, poorly, tried to say is that you could run those “key services” if you want. Again, I know you have a certain fixation on what’s decentralised, or not… LOL, so start fixing it by changing that Wikipedia entry! I believe in you! 🙈
@prologic@twtxt.net I recommend its Wikipedia entry is edited then, if you are completely certain.
“Bluesky is a decentralized microblogging social media service primarily operated by Bluesky Social, PBC.”
That I know of, you can run the PDS, and pretty much everything else.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de wow, indeed it is supper bright, and kind of broken, when not logged in.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de it is still dark for me, but I am logged in. Hmm, let me check…
\u2028
, is no longer being rendered right on the description
metadata.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org yeah, Yarn doesn’t work well without it, just tried it.
\u2028
, is no longer being rendered right on the description
metadata.
Well, crap, and now it is. This is so odd. Things do not work sometimes, then sometimes they do! 🤯
@prologic@twtxt.net, the new line character. \u2028
, is no longer being rendered right on the description
metadata.
@prologic@twtxt.net trying out as in? I have a BlueSky account, using my own domain, but I do not longer host a PDS.
@prologic@twtxt.net oi! :-D I think it is fine as is right now. My vision isn’t as good as it used to be, and my display is not the “standard” size. Phanpy uses a pretty neat slider on its settings that allow you to set the default size. I will query its developer to see what he has to say.
@prologic@twtxt.net quite good, under Linux. I had to zoom in a notch, as the default is a tad small on my 27” display. But I do that for many websites.
It’s the font stack that Phanpy uses. It works quite well under Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
@prologic@twtxt.net, I think font-family: ui-rounded,-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,Segoe UI,Roboto,Ubuntu,Cantarell,Noto Sans,sans-serif;
is a better font stack than current for Yarn web.
I have grown used to, and to love, the Ubuntu font. It is highly legible.
@prologic@twtxt.net glad to hear (about being alive). Get well soon!
@movq@www.uninformativ.de that’s pretty weird, but easily covered under a performer’s “job description”. :-D
@xuu I think he is on vacations (I sure hope he is, having fun and all!), or something. I haven’t seeing anything from him for over a day now. Very unusual.
@movq@www.uninformativ.de I envy you! In Europe, using an e-bike is completely doable. In the States, in many cities, not a chance. :-(
@prologic@twtxt.net, are you running Ollama on your Mac Studio? How much RAM does it have? How does it performs with 7b, and 13b models?
334.90
as 33490,00
. 😬 This is germany, so it wants a comma, not a dot …
@movq@www.uninformativ.de that would have never worked for me. I don’t have that kind of money in a bank account. 😂
We should standardise numerical notations, at least the nations using the Arabic numerals. Spain also uses the period as the thousands separator. For legibility sake, commas and periods make sense, like €3,500.25, for example. That’s three thousand five hundred Euros, and 25 Euro cents. But this should also work: €3500.25.
It makes little sense that €334.90 gets interpreted as €33490 (or €33,490). 🤯
@prologic@twtxt.net using Yarn he isn’t supposed to follow it, it should show as context, no?
@prologic@twtxt.net sorry, tried looking for the points you mentioned, but couldn’t find them. Got a link?
@prologic@twtxt.net lies, and scams aside, there is plenty of need in the world. Yet, you can’t help everyone. Best way to do it is to donate to a worthy cause, and ignore one offs.
@prologic@twtxt.net “here, have 2 rupees.”
😜😜😜 well, now I can. This is beyond weird.
@xuu that’s on iOS? I can’t (running 18.1).
First one on the third row, for example. There are more, though.
@prologic@twtxt.net how could I show you what I can’t type? 😂 Let’s see, a second.
I have noticed that Yarn (here) will not take some emoji. At least, will not take some under iOS.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org precisely. The fog itself doesn’t smell. It simply carries the smell of its surroundings. Find what those surroundings are, and the credit will go to the right thing. 😊
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I think it would make the interface look too busy, I would pass on that one.
@nff@www.noizhardware.com it is actually quite bad, so what you are smelling ain’t fog.
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org you sure are a crafty young man!
@wbknl@twtxt.net ahh! I didn’t know that tidbit of information. It all makes sense now.
@wbknl@twtxt.net you and I. There is a backyard waiting for me to mow (most likely will tackle it tomorrow), and a front yard that yearns the touch of the mower as well (that one will have to wait a bit longer).
@wbknl@twtxt.net you don’t have a permanent address? Why will you need a forwarding service?
@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org I would say it is extremely broken.
@wbknl@twtxt.net CW was all I did during my military “tour”. I learned Morse code when I was 5 years old, and used it during my youth, and early adulthood. Went to competences, and won, and all! :-)
My father was a professional radio-telegraphist for many years, until his retirement at 67 years old.
@prologic@twtxt.net that’s already done (IP over RF). But they are other protocols (radio packet, SDR, etc.) that they use. More efficient, and specially geared towards ham radio.
@wbknl@twtxt.net none, unless you are. 😊
@prologic@twtxt.net OP meant the same way they use email, or the web.
Knowing how many other things hams can get into, I doubt there is even one using twtxt. You would know, right @prologic@twtxt.net ?
@prologic@twtxt.net it depends on the impact it has on you, and/or your loved ones. So, debatable. I think I understand the context on which you used it (based on the @movq@www.uninformativ.de two posts); I was just not in a good mood for it. I am alright now. Much work to be done from now on, we’ll try harder.
@wbknl@twtxt.net that Messenger bag is a big one, isn’t it?
@eapl.me@eapl.me well, well, look who the cat dragged in! 😊 Will read, and discuss!
@xuu on top of it, having to stomach joyful messages in some group chats that are hard, or almost impossible, to break away from.
@prologic@twtxt.net interesting emoji choice here, mate. 😞
Alright. I am—actually, “we” are—out for the next couple of days. Do me a favour and stick some needles on that orange voodoo doll you got—make one, if you don’t!
Unless, of course, we all switch to Rust. Then there will be a new version each month. 😅
@sorenpeter@darch.dk after so much debate and deliberation we have gotten to the point on which I can safely say there will not be a version 2. It is version 1, forever! 😈

It ain’t showing.
