grey sky projects[1]:
- working on a traefik split-gateway with tls (public|mesh)
- deciding on a domain (this is infinite crux)
- writing countless custom ansible roles
- i’m certain there’s a coffee in there somewhere
@mutefall@twtxt.net Ansible you say eh? 🤔 i’ve moved away from configuration management systems that basically lead to infrastructure that is eventually consistent, some thing I don’t really like and it’s hard to reason about. My tools of choice currently are Terraform, Packer and my own shops[1] – For me it’s important infrastructure has state and is reasonably modular enough that you can reason about it with ease.
@mutefall@twtxt.net yeah for bare-metal using Terraform is a bit tricky. However you can still use Packer to build your OS images and PXE + DHCP + TFTP to do automated bare metal provisioning
@mutefall@twtxt.net What kind of nice pipe do you have coming in? 🤔
@mutefall@twtxt.net I hate you 😂 🤗
@mutefall@twtxt.net Go on… 😂
@mutefall@twtxt.net Yup you were right, I really hate you now 😅 (in the nicest way possible 🤗) Damn! I pay $130/month for 100/40 over Copper last mile (vDSL) where I barely see ~60/~30 + a /29 IPv4 block.
😳
@mutefall@twtxt.net So jealous 😂
