An Introductory Guide to DevOps LifeCycle | by Jatin Mittal | DevOps Dudes | Medium
Bahahaha just accidently came across this article and thought I’d share it with y’all.
DevOps is not a programming language, it’s not a tool, it’s not a technology…….then what DevOps is?
It is a combination of Development and Operations or It’s a collective responsibility of the developers and operators.
Every time I get called up by a recruiter, or try to hire myself into my team (I’m a Lead SRE) I keep telling them:
DevOps is not a “thing”, it is not a role. There is no such thing as a DevOps Engineer.
I’m glad some folks out there actually know what da fuq they’re talking about 😅 #devops
@abucci@anthony.buc.ci That’s the point 😆 It’s still engineering 🤣
But what DevOps is?
@will@twtxt.net It’s probably best described on the DevOps Wikipedia page:
DevOps is a set of practices that combines software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops). It aims to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality.[1] DevOps is complementary with Agile software development; several DevOps aspects came from the Agile methodology.
