@abucci@anthony.buc.ci I just find this whole “we need everyone back in physical offices, bums on seats” to be insane 😅 Sure some people need that human contact and physical social interaction, others don’t. Sure there are some types of work that require physical human presence (doctors, nurses, waiters, etc). But this whole let’s force every IT worker back into physical offices (the force part) is just stupidly ridiculous at this point. 🤦♂️

It depends on both it’s amenities and the internal social structure to keep people working there and to keep them there for extended hours. Google’s entire thing collapses if people aren’t there for the free food.

With the electricity prices still rising, contracts for it having to be re-negotiated and winter coming up soon (at least on this side of flat earth), they might soon start begging everyone to stay home, so they can save on heating.
Or at least that’s what some universities here are already considering.
