How to stop teams from opening the app from the browser ? - Microsoft Community <– This is insane, Any MS Teams users around? 🤔 How the hell do I disable this !@#$!23 🤬 automatic open in desktop app behaviour?! 🤦♂️
@akoizumi@kyoko.nerdpol.ovh I don’t have a choice 😆
@prologic@twtxt.net I too often have to use it at work.
I’m on Linux so the xdg-open keep asking me to run the non existent app everytime, I think you can tweak the browser to change the behavior for any custom protocols somewhere, I’ve seen it in Firefox but not in Chrome.
I need it myself since I use everyday both Teams and Zoom, bothering me on every joining.
@justamoment@twtxt.net Yeah it’s really fucking annoying 😡 Figuring out how to convince Chrome to stop offering or actually opening the Teams or Slack desktop apps though is equally painful 🤦♂️
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net I tried duckduckgo on Android and was pleasantly surprised but it’s still somewhat immature as a daily driven browser for me, especially the tabs navigation, I even filed a feedback report about it from the settings in hope it gets better.
Sadly there no Linux version right now, once it’s out I’ll definitely try it out.
@mckinley@twtxt.net I did not know DDG was all proprietary 🤦♂️
@mckinley@twtxt.net Ahh I see. Well at least they do intend to open source it? 👌
Proprietary software claiming to “protect your privacy” cannot and should not be trusted.
I agree with this 💯 – There is no better scrutiny of software than one that’s built in the open for all to see and exploit its weaknesses 👌
