How to stop teams from opening the app from the browser ? - Microsoft Community <– This is insane, Any MS Teams users around? 🤔 How the hell do I disable this !@#$!23 🤬 automatic open in desktop app behaviour?! 🤦♂️
@prologic@twtxt.net I too often have to use it at work.
I’m on Linux so the xdg-open keep asking me to run the non existent app everytime, I think you can tweak the browser to change the behavior for any custom protocols somewhere, I’ve seen it in Firefox but not in Chrome.
I need it myself since I use everyday both Teams and Zoom, bothering me on every joining.
@prologic@twtxt.net Maybe try the new duckduckgo browser?
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net NOOOOOO
@tel@we.loveprivacy.club why not? What is wrong about that browser?
@carsten@yarn.zn80.net I tried duckduckgo on Android and was pleasantly surprised but it’s still somewhat immature as a daily driven browser for me, especially the tabs navigation, I even filed a feedback report about it from the settings in hope it gets better.
Sadly there no Linux version right now, once it’s out I’ll definitely try it out.
why not? What is wrong about that browser?
It’s proprietary and DuckDuckGo has had a sketchy past.
@prologic@twtxt.net The mobile browsers are both free software, but the Mac OS browser is currently proprietary.
We plan to open source our Mac app after the beta period, like we’ve done for our iOS & Android app, and many of our built-in privacy protections are already open sourced.
@prologic@twtxt.net Yes, they said they intend to do so, but it doesn’t matter what they say.
Proprietary software claiming to “protect your privacy” cannot and should not be trusted.
@mckinley@twtxt.net mmh ok. Do they? I don’t know. I didn’t know. I like them.
