@prologic@twtxt.net how can I post an image here and it show the image, I seen one guy did that. help?
@chunkimo@twtxt.net by default pods do not permit rendering of images inline unless the operator of the pod has permitted those domains.
just let me know which domains are missing, and I’ll add them!
otherwise, just upload the image using the media upload button 👌
this is by design and a security feature
@chunkimo@twtxt.net Link me to one that didn’t render?
Are you uploading them or linking to external images?
@chunkimo@twtxt.net Which domain? Drop a link to one here?
@chunkimo@twtxt.net who owns that domain? Can it be trusted not to have multi gigabyte images hosted there. 😆
@chunkimo@twtxt.net Kk I’ll add it to the allowed domain list 👌
Done 👌
@prologic@twtxt.net We really need to make the UX no this better. Perhaps alert the author that their images won’t be shown and why?
@marado@twtxt.net Tooltip? I personally hate them 😆 But if it helps 🤔
Open to other suggestions 👋
@chunkimo@twtxt.net That’s right. Imagine linking to a malicious image. but even more simply imagine linking to a multi-gigabyte image. Now users who are bandwidth constrained have to download it and this chews their traffic quota and costs money 😆
