According to the Auth handling docs
X-Sandstorm-User-Id: If the user is logged in, this is set to the user’s current user ID, which is the first 128 bits of a SHA-256. For example: 0ba26e59c64ec75dedbc11679f267a40. This header is not sent at all for anonymous users.
Q: Do you think we can use something a bit shorter, say the last 7 bytes of the X-Sandstorm-User-Id as the yarnd User/Account name?

👋 FYI In case anyone is wondering, the Demo Yarn.social Pod is configured to “block the world” – essentially shadow banning every feed (including local to the demo pod) and it will not be able to follow/fetch other feeds from the reset of the Twtxt/Yarn.social network either.
This is on purpose so that there is no potential for SPAM or otherwise illegal or harmful content from the random “humans” and “things” on the Interwebs.
