Same when you interact with repos, either by commenting, discussing, adding issues, or PRs. Same when you follow other people. You have it use the platform to get usable things out of it.

Technically, you can discover things and people on Facebook, even people you haven’t known for 20 years and forgotten about, but at what cost?

I think that is worth pondering. And that’s besides Copilot…

well that is primarily the reason I moved all of my projects off of GitHub in the first place is because I realized that since Microsoft bought Github that they basically realized they have a treasure trove of data of the users, code and activities that I don’t get believe GitHub was abusing before they got bought out by Microsoft. 🤦‍♂️

so for me it’s still very much a very strong and ethical dilemma.
