@david@netbros.com good point, it is feature lacking. I think it will be handy for the use cases @carsten@yarnd.orbsmart.synology.me has pointed out.
Add the computed password to your current manager for BAU features whilst having the ability to compute the password anywhere, for those use case credentials.

@deebs Watch out for websites reviewing VPNs because many of them are owned by the same companies that operate the VPN services. I use Mullvad and I've heard good things about iVPN. They're very similar. Both have Australian servers. Neither of them require any personal information. Both accept cryptocurrency. Both claim they don't keep logs. Both have GPLv3 official clients but support standard OpenVPN or Wireguard clients. Both also support port forwarding. Mullvad is a bit cheaper unless you pay for long-term service with iVPN's standard plan.

Any recommendations for VPN providers?
@prologic@twtxt.net just a thought, having forks load inline on your current page but indented, so you don’t have to keep going multiple pages deep into forks and get lost where you started. I guess like how Discourse forum software handles replies, if you’re familiar with that.

@deebs will have to look into this MobileCoin thing to get a gauge on whether its potentially malicious or just plain annoying, but thankfully there's well known forks of Signal if worst comes to the worst that strip out unnecessary stuff.

I haven't used Signal long but I must admit I'm a convert. Also handy it can act as the default SMS app on my phone. SMS will be unencrypted of course, and Signal reminds you of as much, but it means i can just use Signal for either case

current tech level: installed ubuntu over mac os so now instead of the apple bluetooth share thing I open up a scuttlebutt client on my laptop and privmessage it to myself on my phone 😜

Finally got around to upgrading my Mikrotik router to a first class citizen. Ripped out the other devices and have the network running solely off it.
Also switched from blocking DNS queries at the border to masquerading the traffic to the adguard raspberry pi to eliminate DNS retries.
