Oh, I don’t think they are burning money. It is a strategic decision. It looks like they have much more to lose if they do not take the approach they are taking.

In-reply-to » @eaplmx Ahh one thing I'd like to do at some point, when Apple have the Apple Watch my wife wants, is to build some Apple Watch Apps that pull various bits of data off, like Heart rate, Blood Oxygen levels, Weight, Steps, Distance etc and ingest those into a private Dashboard. 👌 -- Then maybe open source this and provide this to others that might want similar convenience/functionality without giving up their data to a 2nd/3rd party.

@prologic@twtxt.net I didn’t. You can’t. It is encrypted. On the phone itself.

What I was pointing out was, the Health app already plots that data, and presents it in a nicely way to the user in real—or very close to—time.

In-reply-to » I quickly hacked together a "Hide Replies" user-level feature, but I really don't like it 😂 It seems to have an awful experience for me 😅

Yes, timeline ordering by last activity is vital for flat yarn view.

In-reply-to » @thecanine I downloaded puffin browser on my iPhone and it didn’t even load twtxt properly!?

@prologic@twtxt.net “and then abuse that data in weird and interesting ways” — oh boy, indeed! I would not touch that thing with a 49’ pole. I bet he is using it because of Flash, to play shitty games. I might be mistaking.

I wouldn’t worry much about this “browser”.

In-reply-to » Alright, check this out. Media I dug through my lumber rack and sort of quickly throw together this footstool out of scraps. Tomorrow, I have to flushtrim the diagonals and screw them in place. They're just glued at the moment. The footstool doesn't look nice but it doesn't have to be. It only needs to be ridgid, which it is. Looking forward to use my new 40 cm tall helper. In hinsight I probably should have used the bigger sheet of particle board to get more walking area. Let's see, at least it's bigger than my shorter footstool I used yesterday. Another photo.

@lyse@lyse.isobeef.org dude, you are quite well rounded on skills, are you? Well done! I wouldn’t even know where to start, considering I don’t have any tools to begin with, and no carpenter knowledge whatsoever.

In-reply-to » @fastidious Yes, but there are many contributing factors to inflation, so some countries and currencies are effected more than others. Therefore there is value in having alternatives, be it other currencies, stocks, precious metals, art or whatever else people put their wealth into (Internet coins included - maybe). I'm also not saying that money is related to happiness, as I myself would much rather died poor and have my work remembered by the world, than die rich and be forgotten, making my life overall meaningless.

There is a high possibility/probability that all of us will vanish into nothingness. 😬😂

So funny, and incomplete:

After investigating your instance we’ve found the issue to be that you are running out of memory. This can be fixed by upgrading your instance or limiting the amount of memory the program(s) in question uses.

@ullarah@txt.quisquiliae.com is there a way to set thinner lines for the twt options icons (edit, reply, etc.), you know thinner lines like the ones at formatting bar.

I think that would make them more passable, and we wouldn’t need to resize them smaller.

Furthermore, I saw inline styling in templates on the latest changes. Oh dear. Yeah, no good.
